We got a furious response from the former Conservative minister Lord Michael Gove when we asked about his position on Israel at the Labour Conference.
Gove claimed he knew more about antisemitism than Zack Polanski, the only Jewish leader of a major political party in the UK. He also accused us of not being journalists and of an obsession with Israel, despite the Labour government's change in position on the occupation of Palestine being the key topic at this year's conference.
Gove now sits in the House of Lords and is editor of right-wing magazine The Spectator.
An earlier UN Commission concluded Israel is committing genocide. The commission’s report, published today, concludes Israel is still committing genocide.
When I was reviewing, if I gave a game 3/5 or 6/10 it meant it was good. We are not in American highschool, we don't have to align with its grade system, and it's not any journalist's fault Metacritic works how it does. There's no point in having a scale if we don't use all of it
It's the very stupid "3/5 stars is good!" scale they have that puts them in their own little bubble that doesn't align with the actual industry's scale. 60s shut down studios. Five star systems work in movies but gaming uses a letter grade system so this happens
This is the moment Channel 4 News Foreign Affairs Correspondent Secunder Kermani was charged at by a group of Israeli settlers in the Occupied West Bank.
The settlers have laid siege to a Palestinian home, while nearby Israeli soldiers keep watch but do not intervene.
Violent attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank have risen dramatically over the past two years, while Israel's government has approved a record number of new settlements.
7/10 IS a good score, and if people keep refusing to score anything lower than a 5 because they're scared of upsetting studios, metacritic will be inflated forever and the only people losing out is players looking at Metacrtiic for buying advice.
An average game is a 5/10!
“Two of our terrorists were killed, so we’re gonna destroy entire city blocks and make completely unrelated people homeless”
I don’t think most Israelis understand just how deranged that sounds to the rest of the world
"When olive pickers get detained for failing to report their activities". These are the deranged ravings of a madman! Do zionists not hear themselves??
The Palestinian terror attack this morning would have been an even worse catastrophic event had the @IDF not acted so quickly. Will the media give this as much coverage as when olive pickers get detained for failing to report their activities?
They always misuse the word terrorist. Locals attacking occupying soldiers is not terrorism. What the occupying soldiers are doing to Palestinians is terrorism and Netanyahu’s threats in this video are part of that terrorism.
🚨 UPDATE: The hypocrisy gets even worse.
"Sir" David Bell, the very man behind the government's antisemitism in schools report, was accused of Islamophobia back in 2005 for singling out Muslim faith schools.
As the then head of Ofsted, he warned that religious segregation could threaten social cohesion and questioned whether Muslim schools were adequately preparing children to respect other cultures.
Fast-forward 21 years...
We're now discussing a Jewish school's published commitment to preparing pupils to become "positive advocates for Israel", while Bell's new report goes far beyond political impartiality, proposing measures to silence legitimate criticism of Israel, presenting genocide as a matter of competing political perspectives, and sanitising the actions of the Israeli state under the guise of tackling antisemitism.
If Muslim schools teaching a particular worldview raised concerns about social cohesion, why shouldn't schools explicitly preparing children to advocate for the State of Israel face the same scrutiny?
Especially when Israel are carrying out a genocide in Gaza!!
This isn't about Jewish or Muslim children. It's about the political indoctrination of ANY child, and the equally dangerous prospect of using education as a vehicle for state propaganda, suppressing legitimate criticism and sanitising atrocities.
It has absolutely NO place in our children's education, no matter which religion, ideology or state it seeks to serve.
If this is seriously where we're at, we may as well stop calling it the Department of Education, and call it what it is: the Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.

99.9% of my timeline is saying that you can't say zionism is racism and then a random tweet pops up from an Israeli zionist that says the most racist shit imaginable
I've been to press and influencer screenings that allowed "positive reactions on social media" one day and actual reviews a few days after that. It's all just marketing. Review embargoes give press time to prepare but they also mean everyone is talking about it at the same time
I think I finally figured out what’s actually interesting about this whole CLAYFACE review situation.
While everyone was focused on that one negative Rotten Tomatoes review, the official CLAYFACE account was already pushing positive Letterboxd reactions from people who saw the movie at public screenings.
And that got me thinking.
The critic embargo doesn’t lift until today.
But DC was perfectly happy letting audience reactions hit first.
So my theory is that they wanted Letterboxd to establish the conversation before Rotten Tomatoes did.
Let people walk out excited, post their scores, talk about the movie, and then use those reactions as free marketing before the critics even get to publish.
That actually makes a lot of sense.
The Josh Wilding drama was probably just an unintended consequence of that rollout. One negative review slipped into the conversation early and suddenly everybody was arguing about embargoes instead of noticing the studio was already promoting audience sentiment.
And that’s the part I find interesting.
Because if studios are starting to care more about what Letterboxd users are saying before the Tomatometer even exists, that tells you something about where movie marketing is going.
Rotten Tomatoes might not be the first battlefield anymore.
And if I'm right, we're watching the decline of the movie critic in real time.
The UK has just legally classified antisemitism as a racism above other racisms and yet according to the political and media class we don't have a hierarchy of racism in the UK.
Went on BBC Politics Live to discuss why Zionism is a racist ideology. The anchor and all three panelists looked like they were about to cry at the end. Very weird behaviour.
Join the Green Party.
I'd love it if those who claim zionism is "complex" and "means many different things to different people" can just once be asked to describe how, in any of those many meanings, it doesn't lead to the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous population of Palestine.
