@Logos I think it’s important to think critically about the why of a moral issue not just the what of the issue, especially form a theological, symbolic perspective to help people understand why the issue exists in the heart of God.

@richardrohlin I don’t think Darling actually understands this issue anyway. Darling’s mistake is that he doesn’t realize there is a growing libertarian and anarchochristian influence in the SBC that doesn’t claim allegiance to the flag under the current regime or future potential options.

@DeanAbbott I suspect because the SBC — maybe we just speak this into being lol — affects a lot of the protestantism, but especially evangelicalism, interfaces with greater society.

I’m SBC and could see accepting the Apostles Creed, but most SBs won’t acknowledge Christ’s descent to hell. With the Nicene, it’s just not baptistic in theology and if you modify a creed…it’s not a creed.
