MARIEL SUPPORTS HUSBAND ON FACEBOOK AMID CONSENT ISSUE
TV host and IV drip enthusiast Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla expressed her support for her husband, Sen. Robin Padilla, on Facebook after he was lectured during a Senate hearing on the topic of consent.
Padilla, who is leading a Senate investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and abuse in the media industry following allegations against GMA-7 contractors, posed a question to lawyer Lorna Kapunan, an advocate for women’s and children’s rights, regarding the current legal definition of rape.
Kapunan made it clear: "No" means "no," even within the context of marriage.
Padilla appeared surprised by this response.
“Oh may consent yan ah,” Mariel captioned the photo of her and her and the senator kissing.
“I am very happy for you, but not everyone is fortunate to be in your position. I hope you get how incredibly insensitive this is,” one social media user responded to Mariel.
