My sales strategy? Don't be a robot.
Engineers have the world's best BS detector.
It’s hard enough for a human to prove to them that we understand the mess under the hood.
Sending AI scripts to a Senior Engineer isn't smart. It's just the fastest way to get blocked.
𝗚𝗨𝗜-𝗙𝗘𝗻𝗶𝗖𝗦𝘅 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲: Experimenting with the FEniCSx + PyQt6 + PyVista stack.
Next steps:
1. Expanding the boundary condition UI.
2. Full multi-physics support for vibro-acoustic coupling.
Any thoughts?
Our FEniCSx-GUI vibro-acoustics software will soon include an improved version of the automatically generated Locally Conformal PML that I’m currently developing.
Although the core algorithm remains the same, users will now be able to create a PML region directly from a mesh.
I'll start posting here again. Sometimes I feel LinkedIn creates "social bubbles" that are hard to escape.
Maybe I’ll find someone else working in computational vibro-acoustics.
Or maybe I’ll just end up in another bubble.
I just ported the Auto-Generating Locally-Conformal PML to dolfinx v0.9.0!
Apologies for the delay—work has been quite busy!
Anyway, between clients, I’ve been developing other vibroacoustic tools, which I also plan to release as open source, just like the autogen_LC_PML.
The Helmholtz equation is fundamental for understanding how sound waves propagate, resonate, and interact with boundaries.
It is derived from the wave equation under the assumption of time-harmonic solutions, which is relevant to many real-world applications.
𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗵𝗼𝗹𝘁𝘇-𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗵𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗹 to Extend Acoustic Simulations!
In many acoustic simulations, solving the Helmholtz equation across an entire domain isn’t always practical The Helmholtz-Kirchhoff Integral provides a more efficient alternative.
I am going to make a Q&A video on the Undabit youtube channel. You can ask about FEniCS, computational acoustics or whatever you'd like to know.

When simulating open duct acoustics, you need a way to account for their radiation impedance. Diffraction causes some reflections in the tube.
With Undabit's auto-generating PML, you can simply create a small "bubble" volume at the exit that contains the duct itself.
In many industrial applications, you need to calculate the radiated sound of a component.
With Undabit's help, you will gain the industrial expertise needed to set up a robust vibro-acoustic FEM tool for real-world applications.

Do you need Vibro-Acoustics Fluid-Structure coupling, non-conformal mesh interfaces... in FEniCSx? Comment below!
Yes, with Undabit's help, you can push the limits of open-source software, achieving the same performance as commercial ones.

Muffler Acoustic Simulation with FEniCSx!
We've applied FEniCSx for an acoustic simulation of a muffler, setting a specific volume velocity at the inlet.
The field outside of it is computed.
