ذكرت صحيفة نيويورك تايمز، نقلًا عن مسؤولين أميركيين وإيرانيين، أن جهاز استخبارات الحرس الثوري فرض الإقامة الجبرية على الرئيس الإيراني السابق محمود أحمدي نجاد، بعد انكشاف اتصالات سرية مزعومة مع جهاز الموساد استمرت لسنوات، ضمن خطة «إسرائيلية» لتجنيده واستخدامه في مشروع لتغيير النظام في إيران

وأضاف التقرير أن الخطة بلغت ذروتها خلال الأيام الأولى من الحرب، عندما نُقل أحمدي نجاد إلى منزل آمن داخل إيران تمهيدًا لإخراجه من البلاد، لكنها فشلت قبل تنفيذها، قبل أن يظهر لاحقًا في مراسم تشييع المرشد الإيراني الراحل علي خامنئي

The Qatari Ministry of Defense announces that State of Qatar was targeted today, Wednesday, by (3) cruise missiles launched from Iran. Our armed forces, by the grace of God, successfully intercepted two of the cruise missiles, while the third missile struck an oil tanker leased to Qatar Energy in Qatar's territorial waters.
