If you are on the path of Sadhana then "Surya Arghya" ritual is a must. It will help you connect with the divine energy of Surya. Beyond supporting your Sadhana, it offers significant physical benefits.

I'm sharing the steps that I follow, the reason am sharing it because it works for me.

1. Take bath, wear fresh clothes. Use a pure copper or brass vessel only. Fill it with fresh water, add red kumkum, unbroken raw rice, and a few flower petals. Perform this on an empty stomach, ideally within 60 minutes of sunrise.

2. Face east and stand barefoot. Hold the vessel with both hands slightly above your forehead. Release a slow, thin, continuous stream of water. Look through the flowing water at the sun, as the stream acts as a natural prism to protect your eyes.
Ensure the water doesn't splash on your feet. You can use a flower pot to catch the water. I avoid using the tulasi plant pot, as it has its own ritual of worship.

3. While pouring, chant a short mantra that lasts as long as the water flow. like

|| Om Namo Surya Narayanaya ||
or Gayatri Mantra

I chant "Om Namo Surya Narayanaya" 11 times and Gayatri Mantra 5 times.

4. Bow down to Surya dev with reverence.

5. With your mind and body aligned, sit facing the sun or in front of your altar and recite the Surya Mandal Stotram. I play the stotram while I recite.
