2. Jose Caballero should be playing shortstop full-time regardless of the fact that Anthony Volpe is hitting

Key: the combination of Volpe’s poor throwing arm + Caballero playing out of position in left field is too much to overcome for a 750 OPS bat (above average) @ shortstop

3. Stick to Ryan McMahon at 3rd

His glove will prove valuable when Schlittler + Fried + Rodon pitch to weak contact. Considering their options offensively at the position, none are strong enough to make up for the lack of glove therefor I believe McMahon is the right play here.

4. Doval needs to be replaced by Carlos Lagrange (if ready) and if not a veteran outside the organization at the deadline

5. The Yankees should move on from Austin Wells before JC Escarra because Wells has more upside (see 2024 second) therefor more value on the open market for win now return

Despite this, JC can provide Wells’ output while not surrendering any more value necessary at the deadline

7. Splitting DH/1B opportunity for Goldschmidt makes sense during the regular season but during the postseason the correct choice is to avoid Rice at the position

Key: keep Goldschmidt fresh during regular season and prioritize his health then in postseason prioritize his glove while Rice at DH prioritizes his bat

8. Make a decision at the deadline if you’re going Grisham + Bellinger + Judge or if you plan to replace Grisham with Dominguez or Jones.

Choosing both and punting the young to next year is poor value in a win now season given age of roster
