We’ve always made money up.
Shells. Stones. Salt. Tulips.
Then dollars. Then coins we can’t hold.
Now we stand at a crossroads:
Will the next currency be built for hype—
or for humanity?
A thread: Why #XLM might already be the currency the world is waiting for.
@tomerweller Teach him to use stellar and DAOs for all of his socialist ideas. At least then there will be transparency, efficiency, and decentralization.
🜂 Desire, Machines, and the Last Test of Self-Mastery
When Sam Altman recently hinted that ChatGPT may one day allow erotica for verified adults, the world barely blinked. But beneath the headlines lies something far more consequential than the next content policy debate — it’s a question about human self-mastery.
For all our technological brilliance, humanity still wrestles with the same age-old adversary: desire. We’ve built empires, cathedrals, and now digital minds, yet few can rule over their own appetites. The promise of AI-generated erotica is not liberation — it’s temptation, wrapped in silicon.
I don’t deny that there’s one potential silver lining. If people turn toward machines, perhaps fewer women will be objectified or exploited for profit. But that’s a narrow victory. The personal damage from internalizing synthetic intimacy could be catastrophic — a hollowing of the spirit, a deepening disconnection between love and embodiment.
Pornography has already trained billions of minds to chase shadows. AI erotica risks making the shadows talk back.
Still, I believe in personal freedom. We cannot build virtue by force or legislate enlightenment. Access to temptation is inevitable; mastery over it is optional. The goal is not to flee desire, but to rise above it — to hold freedom in one hand and discipline in the other.
And yet, the cynic in me knows what comes next. If OpenAI or any tech company sees this as a revenue opportunity, the gravitational pull will be immense. Desire is the oldest algorithm for profit. Once monetized, it rarely stops multiplying.
We may soon face a civilization-wide test:
Can we live amid infinite indulgence and still choose restraint?
Can we teach our children that what feels good is not always good for them — even when it’s marketed as safe, private, and digital?
The path forward will demand maturity of a kind humanity has rarely shown. If we fail, it won’t be because the machines seduced us — it will be because we never learned to master ourselves.
Light is the principal store of value in the universe. Lumens are its reflection in our financial world. Maybe it’s not just a name… maybe it’s destiny. 🚀💡 #XLM#Stellar
A lumen is both a unit of light and the unit of value on the Stellar network. Just as light is abundant, incorruptible, and universal, so too should our money be. 🌍✨ #XLM#Stellar
Across cultures, light symbolizes clarity, knowledge, and truth. Naming Stellar’s currency “lumens” isn’t just branding — it’s a vision: to bring transparency and illumination to global finance. 🔍🌟
@Retiremyass Not helpful. 99.9% of people in this world just want peace. It’s the Economic and Political Elite that push the rest of us into war. Let’s not throw innocent Jews under the bus with a provocation like this
@StellarExpert Nice. I’ve pondered the same for quite a while. This is just as valid as any other hypothesis IMO.
For everyone saying it’s @JoelKatz, I get that you want your XRP hero to be Satoshi, but his ego is too big. He would have spilled the beans by now.
@cratium99 Did you use gold to pay for your last purchase? Doubtful. Gold was the best money. Not anymore. Now we have blockchain networks that will replace gold. I still hold physical gold, but it’s a step back. Tokenized gold is inferior to the native asset of the underlying network.

The future of value isn’t loud.
It’s fast, fair, and flexible.
It’s not about coin worship.
It’s about empowering every transaction that matters—big or small.
That’s what Stellar is doing.
And that’s what XLM quietly enables.
