📊 A few months ago, a study from King’s College London found early signs AI is reshaping the UK job market — firms heavily using AI cut total jobs ~4.5%, with junior/entry-level roles hit hardest and hiring intentions down sharply. Technical roles saw notable declines, while people-focused jobs proved more resilient.
My take: it’s the monotonous grad jobs that look most exposed — the spreadsheet-heavy, repetitive analysis, templated reporting, and process-driven tasks that AI can already handle. The risk isn’t “no jobs,” but fewer traditional stepping-stone roles. Grads will need to lean into judgment, creativity, client interaction and problem framing — the parts AI can’t easily automate. Interested to see more numbers come out in 2026.
