@notbobkoz My Occam's razor theory is that the Tigers internal rankings was Made/Gillen/JDP > Henderson > Sirota/Hope/Quintero > Pena and they just chose the top guy made available to them (plus the Dodgers offered a SP in their package). Regardless, the process still seems bad

Sources are telling me that the Brewers have, as speculated, agreed to terms on an extension with Top 100 prospect Luis Lara.

The deal is expected to be for 8 years, and roughly $30 million, with two team options and incentives/escalators included.

@dead_baseball Ive been loosely tracking fWAR from in-season trades. Last I checked a few days back, Brewers were at 2.3 fWAR with the Twins (ironically) coming in second far behind with a 0.9 fWAR. It’s just a blowout.

@MadMaxMKE Part of me thinks that fans have bought so much into the small market vs. big market of it all, that they genuinely believe the Brewers cannot afford to add or operate in any way and that prospects are the only way we can improve.
