“Tinubu by the age of 35 was presidential candidate material..
Same thing with Peter Obi. Built a bank.
Who in our generation owns one?
…We are a generation of influencers.
So people are trained to perform not to build.
People want to perform building a company. Perform entrepreneurship.
We’re just different versions of Davido”

I was having this discussion with someone earlier, this version of Islam as practiced and propagated in Arewa neither appeals to or answers comfortably the questions raised by intellectuals nor solves the problems of the poverty stricken ill educated masses….
If you doubt SLS, just spend a day on Arewa TikTok….
Back to this:
Imagine your wife winning PS5 at the office and she gives another man at the office with smiles and pictures.
And she comes home to tell you then gaslight you that you're overreacting when you complain.
I swear she hates you.
I've seen this movie before
When I worked with Transsion, I watched it happen firsthand. There was a time when owning a smartphone was almost a luxury. Nokia and Samsung dominated the market, and many Nigerians simply couldn't afford smartphones
Then itel and Tecno came in with a different playbook. They made smartphones more affordable without taking away the features people wanted. Millions of Nigerians and Africans who couldn't justify spending heavily on a phone suddenly could own one. Today, those brands command well over 75% of Nigeria's smartphone market
I have a feeling we're about to see something similar in the automobile industry
As the prices of other traditional luxury brands continue to climb beyond the reach of many buyers, especially younger Nigerians, Chinese EVs are becoming a very compelling alternative
The formula is familiar.. lower purchase price, lower running costs, no fuel headaches, less maintenance, and designs that are increasingly attractive.
Markets usually reward value. If Chinese manufacturers continue improving quality while keeping prices competitive, we could see a significant shift in buying behaviour over the next few years
A prayer we should all take seriously includes May we not fight so hard and do so much for friends that end up like Nuhu Ribadu and Uba Sani. May we not struggle so much to raise up our enemies to come and destroy us and may we not lose sleep or waste sweat to be part of people that would bring someone into power only to turn out in humiliations. Can I hear a loud Amin from the people at the back.
He japad to the UK, and he still lives in the UK
He says that many living in Nigeria are better than many who left Nigeria for the UK five years ago
Notice that he has not returned to Nigeria or sent his kids back there. He has remained in the UK after paying almost all of his income to bills.
This is like a millionaire telling a poor man, “Money is the root of evil”
Every responsible & meaningful summit takes place btw one election cycle & the next, within the 4-yr tenure of a political administration. Ironically, there’s one summit that only seems to happen in the penultimate year before every election, and that’s the #ArewaMediaSummit
Why?
My Ajo group expanded from a group of 10 people to 36 and a subgroup of about 10 people. We started with 100k monthly to 500k monthly and the day I jokingly said we would do 1m monthly, people don dey send DM to book their slots; and we’re just in July.
When people here talk about Ajo and make fun of it, I just laugh because little do they know that some people have done many meaningful things for themselves through that; and it’s been close to 4years without a single default or story that touches the hearts. 😂
It has changed with this generation.
There has been a reawakening of men. Men are getting less foolish.
I have apartment, car, this and that. You that I want to toast, what do you have to offer to improve my life. That’s the general thinking these days.
What an incredible 12 years of leading UBA as Group Chairman, @TonyOElumelu. The impact you’ve had on the Group, on the people you’ve led, and the customers you have served is something to be truly proud of.
Congratulations, Tony.
On a lighter note. 🤔🤔🤔 Pls launch a new bank and leave the oil industry alone for us 😉 Lahọ 🙏🏿
