☀️ Dreamer's Lab Morning Walk
Every morning, our little village has a new story.
Today, Lea and Patch visited @MoodVista.
Some people cultivate flowers.
Some people cultivate silence.
Some people quietly cultivate kindness, respect and honesty... one morning at a time.
If you haven't discovered Mood's Way of the Warrior series yet, take a moment to visit her page. You may find that the strongest lessons are often the quietest ones.
Every morning, someone has a story.

Some days take everything before you even remember home.
Work has been heavier. The heat is cruel. Long, gruelling hours. Hard labour. Good in its own way, but still the kind of graft that uses the body first and leaves the rest of the day to argue over what little remains.
So the board rests clear for now. Not empty. Just cleared. The pages are stacked. The sketches are gathered. The glass is low, the ashtray is full, and the cat has found the one piece of the story she was always going to find.
That does not mean the story has stopped. It has only found a way to rest while it keeps growing, waiting for the time it can be properly told.
If anything, it has been louder in the quiet parts of the day. Roxy is still behind the Hub. Sera is still watching the room. Eve still carries what she survived. Nyssa is still somewhere beyond the rain. Tarryn still has a town to hold.
And Allyza, perhaps, is closest to the feeling of it now. High above the street. Half in shadow. Watching the shape of things before anyone below knows they have changed.
Beyond them, there are still roads I have not followed far enough. A door with the wrong name behind it. A debt nobody has admitted to owning. A city still fighting the hand closing around its throat.
Old choices are still reaching forward. New ones are still waiting to be made. They have been there through the long hours, calling from the edge of my days. Waiting. Rushing me, almost.
I am slower right now. That is the truth of it.
But Lucid Rogue Perception is not finished. The work is packed away with care, not buried.
The world is still there.
And someone is still working to make it less cruel.
@CraigHope_DM Well, that's his highlight of the World Cup secured.
Still not sure why he's there, sure it won't affect anything, he can't play full back anyway
For hours, the Hub worked through the lane one name at a time. Fuel and goods moved from the cart to the people they were meant for.
Then the lane tested them. Two men in front to make noise. Two men behind for the goods.
Roxy saw through it.
The revolver came up. Sera moved with it, pinning the second man hard enough that the rest remembered where their hands were. The lane went still.
No speech. No bargain. No chance to dress theft as custom.
The goods stayed under Hub hands until the men backed away. Then the work continued.
The Hub had come to help, not be handled.
And it would.

Roxy drew the ledger closer and made the problem workable.
Sera had returned with one woman helped, and enough names to prove she had not been the first. The stories looked small on paper: locked goods, withheld stock, borrowed authority, and the Hub’s name used carefully by a man smart enough to sound useful without claiming he belonged to it.
Roxy did not start with him. She started with the people. She marked the next doors to knock, while Sera gave each name enough shape to act on.
He had charged frightened people for the promise that their trouble would be carried in properly.
That was the line he crossed.
The work on the table was not only to find him. It was to make sure everyone he had promised the Hub would help actually received it.

The cup went over, and the room finally took notice.
Her drink crept across the table, dark against the worn wood. The woman stayed braced over it, palms spread flat, trying to make the room understand her before her courage faded. “I paid him,” she said. “He promised you’d hear me.” Her voice shook with distress and embarrassment.
The Hub went quiet in pieces. A few men looked over from their drinks. Someone stopped with a cup halfway to his mouth. Behind the bar, Roxy held still, listening. Sera turned with a cloth still in her hands.
That steadiness mattered.
The woman had been waiting too long for some sign that what she had paid for had reached the right ears. Her trouble was not grand. No fire. No knife. No body in the street. Just something too small for others to care about, and too heavy for her to carry alone.
It was not protection she had bought. Not exactly. A man had told her small troubles were easy to miss unless someone carried them in properly. He had taken coin for the promise of making sure the Hub heard her name.
Roxy’s face hardened as she understood what had been sold. Neither Roxy nor Sera spoke yet.
The Hub had become a place people came to be heard. Someone had found a way to charge for the fear that they might not be.
That could not be allowed to stand.

Roxy had told Sera about the visit over dinner.
She did it warmly. Proudly, even. He had tried intimidation and found no purchase, then tried to convince Roxy to take the matter into her own hands.
Roxy had not questioned Sera. She had simply backed her.
Sera smiled as she listened. The matter was not over, but Roxy had made clear where it stood. The answer would come from Sera, and that mattered.
So Sera chose the table and the time.
The representative came wanting his parcel. Sera gave him only terms.
The operation could continue, but not as it had. The Hub would decide where it moved, what it carried, and to whom. No yards taken from people too scared to refuse. No innocent people shaken down for an easier path.
“We help people,” Sera said.
Her voice stayed even. Her eyes held his. The parcel sat there, close enough to matter and far enough to make the answer clear.
By the end, he was no longer looking at a girl who had interfered.
He was listening to a woman who had turned his problem into her terms.

@ElMarwadi When was your last trophy?
How many times in the last 5 years have you been in a quarter final of a cup?
How many managers have you had in the last 5 years?
Fuck it, how many POINTS have you had in the league?
Nonsense club.
Manchester United? Not even a united club, nor city.
The response reached the Hub before the day was out.
Not through the men Sera had stopped in the yard. Someone who carried more authority came instead. Someone chosen to speak for the route when a simple drop point had become a problem.
He waited at the bar until Roxy came to him.
“I’ll be plain,” he said. “One of yours has taken something of ours.”
Roxy set the cloth down. She knew who he meant. She also knew why he had chosen to come to her.
“The redhead,” he said. “She and her friends stole something from my boys.”
Pride moved quietly through Roxy’s chest, but nothing in her face softened.
He had come to reach above Sera. To find the authority she answered to. To have the matter corrected by someone whose power he recognized.
Roxy let him see that he had found her.
Then she let him see that it changed nothing.
No apology. No parcel. No promise to smooth it over.
“Sera made her decision,” Roxy said.
The man went still enough to understand the answer. Roxy was not refusing the matter. She was placing it exactly where it belonged.
If he wanted an answer, he would have to get it from Sera.
And when he did, he would know exactly how much weight stood behind her.
