@SkildAI Incredible that robots can be taught by *showing* instead of *saying*, the same way humans learn. Excited to see what new capabilities this continues to unlock!
Introducing S1, our new foundation model that learns from one example.
It can be taught 10-minute long tasks that it has never seen before, from one video prompt without any fine-tuning.
Watch S1 operate in real-time via in-context learning:
Announcing Series C
We’ve raised $1.4B, valuing the company at over $14B
With this capital, we will accelerate our mission to build omni-bodied intelligence 🚀

We built a robot brain that nothing can stop.
Shattered limbs? Jammed motors? If the bot can move, the Brain will move it— even if it’s an entirely new robot body.
Meet the omni-bodied Skild Brain:
We’ve all seen humanoid robots doing backflips and dance routines for years.
But if you ask them to climb a few stairs in the real world, they stumble!
We took our robot on a walk around town to environments that it hadn’t seen before. Here’s how it works🧵⬇️
Modern AI is confined to the digital world.
At Skild AI, we are building towards AGI for the real world, unconstrained by robot type or task — a single, omni-bodied brain. Today, we are sharing our journey, starting with early milestones, with more to come in the weeks ahead.
Our Mission: Artificial General Intelligence grounded in the physical world.
We believe AGI that can truly understand and reason in the real world can only be built through grounding in the physical world.
Our Vision: Any robot, Any task, One brain.
We tackle robotics in its full generality – building a continually improving, omni-bodied brain that can control any hardware for any task.
Who are we? A passionate group of scientists & engineers driven by our shared vision.
We have been researching AI and robotics for more than a decade. Our team includes pioneers of self-supervised learning, curiosity-driven exploration, end-to-end sim2real for visual locomotion, dexterous manipulation, learning from human videos, robot parkour, and many more. Many of these works have won awards at top-tier AI and Robotics conferences. Our team has also built production-ready systems at Anduril, Tesla, Nvidia, Meta, Kitty Hawk, Google, Everyday Robotics, and Amazon.
Join us in our mission to build the robot brains of tomorrow.
I’m a digital artist and director, doing visual work for films, TV, web, games and stage.
I’m currently looking for new projects; on commission or freelance.
Previous clients include NASA/JPL, SpaceX, Silverback Films among others.
Ordinarily, I keep my personal health matters private, yet the past six months have been the most challenging and painful period I've ever endured, compelling me to share my journey with you.
This ordeal began with two episodes of Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare condition that left my hands and arms paralyzed, first striking in March and then again in October. What followed was a relentless descent into severe, daily pain. Despite undergoing numerous tests for autoimmune issues, answers eluded us until diagnoses of IBS and severe Ulcerative Colitis were made.
The toll on my body has been profound, with a weight loss of nearly 50lbs in just 4 months, bringing me down to 145lbs—my lowest ever. These months have seen me largely confined to bed, overwhelmed by pain, rendering me unable to engage in research or the activities that bring me joy. My inability to respond to messages and inquiries has been a source of personal regret, as my energy levels have been severely impacted.
Currently, I am hospitalized at AGH Wexford facing emergency surgery for a perforated bowel, among other complications. This level of illness is a first for me, and admittedly, it is daunting. My family—my wife Lisa and our three sons—have been my rock, though this ordeal weighs VERY heavily on them as well.
I ask for your understanding if I'm unable to reply to comments or messages during this time. Historically, I have never sought financial assistance for personal reasons or for Odd Pittsburgh. However, faced with significant medical expenses, I am humbly reaching out for any support you might offer towards my recovery. Contributions via CashApp/Venmo (@oddpittsburgh) or PayPal ([email protected]) would be deeply appreciated during this trying time.
I love you all ❤️
