Prior to today’s game, we held a moment of silence to remember Miller Gardner, the son of former Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner.
Miller had a spark in his eyes, an outgoing and feisty personality, and a warm and loving nature. Miller grew up in the Yankees organization and had become a two-sport athlete, wearing his father’s No. 11 on his football jersey.
The entire Yankees organization grieves this unimaginable loss with Brett, his wife Jessica, and their son Hunter.
For #13 💙
After Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau lost their lives, one of our ushers, Susie Diaz, ordered #13 pins for fellow SAP Center staff to wear the next time the Sharks played the Blue Jackets. Susie wanted Columbus to know our team was thinking of them.
Susie unexpectedly passed last month but with the help of her family, we are honoring her memory, and the Gaudreaus, by wearing the #13 pins tonight.
Gill has officially met his match 🥹🐾
@SharksPup was matched with Chase, a 14-year-old from Sacramento. Chase has autism & Gill’s calm presence in public will allow him & his mom Colleen to go on more adventures.
We'll miss Gill, but he and Chase already make a great team!
The New York Yankees today announced that legendary Yankees play-by-play radio voice John Sterling, who has called 5,420 regular season Yankees games and 211 postseason Yankees games, is retiring effective immediately. He will be recognized in a pregame ceremony on Saturday, April 20, and will visit the WFAN booth during the game 🎙️💙
A well-deserved honor for @TheJudge44.
