🚨 BREAKING : Fears Grow for Detained Gaza Doctor Amid Reports of Abuse
Hussam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician detained by Israeli forces since December 2024 without charge or trial, is facing growing concerns over his safety and possible mistreatment in detention.
“This forced separation doesn’t just kill those inside the prison, it breaks their families too,” his son says, marking over a year without seeing his father.
Dr. Abu Safiya was leading one of the last functioning hospitals in northern Gaza when he was taken. Today, his family’s message is clear: this is an urgent appeal to save his life and end his suffering.
The wife of Dr. Hossam Abu Safieh is pleading with the world to intervene urgently to save his life, asserting that "his only crime was saving the lives of the wounded," and demanding immediate action before he dies in prison.
Don't let this become just another news item; talk about it.
It feels as if we really are in the middle of a Kuhnian scientific revolution with regards to #MECFS, wherein the old forces fight to stick to their psycho paradigm. The ad hominem attacks against biomedical clinicians/researchers start when the content-based arguments run dry.

🚨 BREAKING: According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ society, detainee Fidaa Assaf (49) from Qalqilya — held since February 2025 — is suffering from leukemia and facing serious health deterioration due to medical neglect in Israeli occupation prisons, despite urgent need for treatment.
Bidding Leila Shahid farewell is heartbreaking. Her passing has deprived Palestine, her family & friends, of an exceptional human being whose vitality, dedication, & undaunted spirit left an impact on the global diplomatic & political arena. Since our days at AUB, I have maintained a special friendship with Leila, witnessing her warmth, vivacity & commitment to Palestine & its people with a rare luminosity & persistence. Rest in peace, power, & love dear Leila.
Where happened to the call "all hostages must return home"? Why is Israel - who has no legal authority in Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem according to the highest world's court - continues to hold captive thousands of Palestinians, mostly without even charge or trial?
URGENT! Let's stay focused on Gaza, and the rest of occupied Palestine.▶️Israeli soldiers-including European citizens/double nationals-continue to slaughter Palestinian civilians. Politicians should use their leverage to stop 🇮🇱 crimes instead of trying to silence the critiques.

DON'T STAY SILENT!!!!
Statement from Oscar-winning director Hamdan Ballal:
This afternoon, nearly a year after we won the Oscar, the same settler who attacked me shortly after I returned from Los Angeles--Shem Tov Lusky--again led an attack against my home and my family. Four of my family members are currently arrested and one is in the hospital.
I invite all journalists and diplomats to come visit me and my family this Tuesday, February 17, to hear about how the situation has gotten worse in the year since we won the Oscar, as it has across the West Bank. Email me to coordinate your visit: [email protected]
Two weeks ago we managed to get a decision from the Israeli court that the area around my home is closed to non-residents, but the settlers break that order and still come with their flocks almost every day.
We call the police, they do nothing. The army comes, they do nothing. Today, Shem Tov Lusky--the settler who attacked me in my home shortly after I won the Oscar last year--came with his flock to my home. My brother called the police to report the incursion. The army came first and immediately raided our house, attacking everyone inside. Then they arrested two of my brothers, a nephew, and cousin. Another brother was badly injured and is now in the hospital.
The Israeli court decision was supposed to make things a bit quieter for us. But the opposite has been true. The settlers have ramped up their harassment and the Israeli authorities have done nothing to enforce the decision, and today they joined the settlers in the attack.
