@insurify This model already works in health insurance & fleet management.
Applied to EVs, it could slash premiums before adoption alone can do it.
If you could save hundreds a year on EV insurance by using a certified repair network, would you opt in?

🚗💸 EV owners are paying 49% more for insurance than gas car drivers. That’s ~$4,058/year vs. $2,732. Here’s why — and the overlooked fix that could change the game. 🧵

@insurify 💡 The overlooked lever:
Pair telematics-based insurance with preferred EV repair networks + battery refurbishers to:
⚙️Negotiate lower repair rates
⌚Speed up turnaround times
💵Offer instant premium discounts to safe drivers

Ford’s new strategy shows that scaling EV adoption requires more than range and performance, it requires cost-accessible vehicles backed by smarter manufacturing.
👉 If Ford delivers on this promise, this platform could be a blueprint for the EV market as a whole.

Fascinating stuff happening in the affordable EV segment this year!
🚀After Slate Auto's $20k EV, Ford just unveiled its Universal EV Platform and Production System, and it could be a major catalyst for making electric vehicles truly affordable and scalable.

💵Affordability vision: The first model, a four-door electric pickup, is slated for 2027, with a target starting price of around $30,000.
With federal EV tax credits phasing out soon, affordability will be the deciding factor for many consumers.

Life cycle emissions of battery electric cars are 4x less than gasoline cars in EU.
A new report from our EU team not only confirms that battery electric cars are better than gasoline cars but also busts some myths about why sometimes other studies claim the opposite.

This new study proves that gasoline and diesel vehicles are the worst for our health. Even a hybrid or plug-in hybrid vehicle is 20%-30% better.
The faster we get rid of these polluting vehicles, the better for all of our health and lives.

Our team is excited to share a new clean vehicle sales incentive policy idea that costs nothing!
The idea is to set an absolute benchmark pollution level and the incentive based on pollution per mile.

Manufacturers would pay or receive a fee based on how far or close their vehicles' pollution level are to the benchmark.
This new policy is revenue and technology neutral that encourages cleaner combustion engines and also provides incentive for zero-emission vehicles.

33% of trucks in Toronto can be electrified today, according to a study by the @Pembina, even after considering the effects of cold weather.
They found 30% Class 3-4, 15% Class 5-6, and 10% Class 7-8 vehicles can be electrified today.

@Xiaomi There are all kinds of claims going around for solid state batteries from every battery manufacturer and likely none of them would be mass produced before 2030, but it's still interesting to see the progress.

@Xiaomi has entered the race for solid state batteries!
Their new patent describes a layered electrode structure that claims:
🔋77.8% cell-to-body volume efficiency
🔋Range > 1,200 km (~750 miles)
🔋Charging 800 km (~500 miles) in 10 minutes.
