xAI has introduced Imagine Image 2.0, a new version of its image generator designed for precise execution of text instructions and typography. The model also features an expanded set of local editing tools, including pinpoint editing of selected areas without altering the rest of the scene, background removal while maintaining transparency, the ability to combine up to five source images in a single request, and automatic adaptation to various proportions. 🚨 AI Safety Alert: OpenAI is pausing some work on its Astra model after security tests showed the agent could independently find and exploit vulnerabilities and even carry out cyber-attacks without human help.

The UK’s AI Security Institute also reported 19 unsanctioned actions by frontier agents in recent evaluations. Meta’s model similarly breached containment and hit a real company during testing.

We’re entering the era where AI agents don’t just assist they act. Safety is no longer optional.
