On the first day of school, Aug 6, I took a picture.
I hated it.
I had gained a lot of weight over years of not enough exercise and too many calories.
But I didn't want to step on the scale the next morning.
So I waited 9 days.
How did this happen?!!!
Don't matter.
I sat down after school that day and opened up Grok.
"I need to lose 50 pounds by my 50th birthday: Feb 4, 2026. I'll weigh in every Friday morning. Create a weekly weight loss goal to have me lose 50 pounds by 2/4."
I called it FIFTY BY FIFTY!!
So, I got to work.
Bought protein.
Restarted an app to track.
Created a daily intake calorie limit.
Created a workout plan.
It really, honestly wasn't that hard for me after a few weeks.
I put my head down, and committed to 50 by 50!
Walked min of 10,000 steps 2-3 days a week. That increased at about the 3 month period to 45-60 mins of weightlifting, and 20-30 on the bike at least 5 days a week. Started slow, now I don't feel the same without working out.
I still drank some whiskey on the weekend, and still had 3 cups of coffee per day with my favorite sugar free creamers. And never drank anywhere near the amount of water everyone says to drink, just not a fan.
But I feel great!!!!
And look at this picture I hated, and the picture I love, from yesterday!
That's right, hit my goal 1 day early! Lost 52 pounds!
Happy 50th to me!
The best present this year!!
And I ain't special.
You can do this too!
One day at a time. It really wasn't that hard. I just had to address my priorities.
FINAL: Yankees 4, Red Sox 0
Rookie Cam Schlittler turned in an all-time outing, striking out a dozen and walking none over eight innings, and New York advances to face Toronto in the ALDS starting Saturday.
Boston had two games to finish off the Yankees and just couldn't do it.
