The New York Times reports that the US military used its Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), produced by Lockheed Martin, for the first time during the opening 24 hours of the war on Iran.

According to the analysis, one of the strikes targeted a school and a sports hall in the city of Lamerd, killing 21 people and injuring around 100 others.

The attack in Lamerd happened just hours after the strike on the Minab girls' school, which killed over 100 children.

The PrSM is a new surface-to-surface missile system being introduced by the US Army and Marines to replace the older ATACMS platform, with much of its capabilities still undisclosed, though it is reportedly able to strike targets up to 400 miles (644 km) away.
