*AN APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SAVE THE LIFE OF AASIYAH QOMARDEEN*
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam, Friends, Well-wishers, Philanthropists, Corporate Organizations, and Charitable Foundations,
We humbly seek your support to help save the life of *Aasiyah Qomardeen*, the beloved daughter of *Sheikh Qomardeen Yunus*, who is battling *craniosynostosis, a rare congenital condition* in which the bones of the skull fuse too early, preventing normal brain and skull growth. Without urgent treatment, it can lead to increased pressure on the brain, breathing and vision problems, developmental delays, and other life-threatening complications.
Following extensive medical evaluations, specialists at Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore, India, have accepted Aasiyah's case and recommended urgent treatment by a multidisciplinary team. Her treatment includes comprehensive medical investigations, craniosynostosis corrective surgery, midface distraction surgery with an implant, reconstructive plastic surgery, and intensive post-operative care. She is expected to spend about three weeks in the hospital, followed by two to three months of recovery and follow-up care in India.
The total estimated hospital treatment cost is *USD 29,900* (approximately ₦40,942,070). This estimate covers medical treatment only and excludes airfare, visa fees, accommodation outside the hospital, medications not included in the treatment package, local transportation, and any additional procedures that may become necessary after further evaluation.
The financial burden is far beyond what the family can bear alone. We therefore earnestly appeal to compassionate individuals, Islamic foundations, charitable organizations, corporate bodies, and everyone who believes in giving a child a chance to live to support Aasiyah's treatment.
Every donation, no matter the amount, brings her one step closer to receiving the life-saving care she urgently needs. If you are unable to contribute financially, we kindly request your sincere prayers and ask that you share this appeal with others who may be willing to help.

This is why I don’t subscribe to surface-level criticisms and will never rate activisms devoid of intellectualism .
Let me say something clearly, the NYSC is the biggest volunteering system in Nigeria.
Without NYSC , our health and education systems will COLLAPSE. These guys cover the shame of our sub-nationals .
So many State governments augment with corp members.
Just to add to your opinion.
One of the biggest problems with us on this app is that we rarely pay attention to what truly matters. We are mostly drawn to whatever is trending or going viral.
When committees were calling for public opinions, many of us were too busy arguing about who was snubbed at a movie premiere or debating who was the bigger clown between Peller and Chicken or why did Theo Abu Agada call Peter Obi incompetent in the past.
Then, when the decisions are made, we suddenly become experts with endless complaints.
And be not like those who forgot Allah so He made them forget themselves, those are the defiantly disobedient.
Not equal are the companions of the fire and the companions of paradise, the companions of paradise are the attainers of success.

2026 Day of the Seafarer: Stakeholders’ Canvass Improved Welfare for Seafarers.
Stakeholders in Nigeria's maritime sector have called for stronger protection, improved welfare and sustained investment in seafarers, recognising their indispensable role in global trade and economic growth.
The call was made at the 2026 Day of the Seafarer celebration organised by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA in Lagos.
The event, which was held under the theme "Carrying World Trade, Carrying the Risk" brought together National Assembly members, policy makers, government officials, security agencies, labour unions and other industry stakeholders. It provided an opportunity for deliberation on the invaluable contributions of seafarers to global trade and the need to sustain enhanced welfare for them.
Delivering the National Assembly's goodwill message, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Marine Transport, Senator Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun, described the theme as a fitting reflection of the sacrifices made by seafarers and reaffirmed the Committee's commitment to legislation that promotes maritime safety, seafarers' welfare, indigenous shipping and maritime education.
"Seafarers are indispensable to international trade and deserve policies that guarantee their safety, welfare and professional advancement. The National Assembly will continue to support legislative initiatives that strengthen the maritime sector and position Nigerian seafarers to compete effectively in the global shipping industry," he said.
In his keynote address, the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, who was represented by the Director, Maritime Safety & Security in the Ministry Mr. Makoji Musa, reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to improving seafarers' welfare, promoting decent work and strengthening Nigeria's maritime workforce under the Blue Economy agenda.
"Seafarers remain the backbone of global trade, and this administration will continue to pursue policies that protect their welfare, enhance their skills and position them for greater opportunities in the international maritime labour market. Investment in our seafarers is an investment in Nigeria's economic future," the Minister stated.
Welcoming participants, Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, noted that despite facilitating over 80 per cent of global trade, seafarers continue to face occupational hazards, security threats and prolonged separation from their families.
He reaffirmed NIMASA's commitment to implementing the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006, which guarantees seafarers’ welfare and the Nigerian Seafarers Development Programme (NSDP), under which more than 2,459 cadets have been trained. He also disclosed that the adoption of the International Transport Workers' Federation/International Labour Organization International Wage Scale into the Conditions of Service for Nigerian seafarers has resulted in wage increases of over 150 per cent.
"NIMASA will continue to place the welfare and professional development of Nigerian seafarers at the centre of our regulatory responsibilities because a resilient maritime industry can only be built on a motivated, well-trained and adequately protected workforce," Dr. Mobereola said.
This years theme Carrying World Trade Carrying Risks , reflecting on the word “carrying” one of the most profound images that comes to mind is that of a mother “carrying” a child, which comes with responsibility, sacrifice, endurance and hope despite the challenges and uncertainty along the way. This exactly depicts the life style of a seafarer, everyday they carry the cargoes that sustains global trade and modern life, hence the reason we have gathered here to celebrate them. - Captain Sunday Umoren, Secretary General, Abuja MoU presenting his goodwill message at the just concluded Day of Seafarers Celebration in Lagos. @IMOsecurity@IMOHQ@MobereolaD@GboyegaOyetola
