Student council is a small-scale democracy, where teens can learn what it means to campaign, to represent, to be accountable. The habits of democracy—listening, debating, deciding—are formed early. These are the seedlings, which may grow into lifelong civic engagement. #CJDemo

This is a photo of a tutoring class. I think there's a problem with this learning method: students are packed closely together. This setup makes it hard for the teacher to provide individual guidance and also makes it easy for the students to get distracted. #CJEdu

Different people use recycling bin in different ways. Some wash the plastic bottles and sort them before disposing, while some throw in bottles directly, like a regular trash bin. Recycling bins have become a microcosm of civic virtue and a touchstone for social education. #CJEP

This is a common question type for assessing if students understand the knowledge. I think this type of exam is measuring test-taking tactics over true understanding, as students always spend more time learning to eliminate wrong answers than to understand the lecture. #CJEdu

This is a normal street sign in Hong Kong, and it is bilingual. I think street signs are the city’s silent welcome mat, and bilingual street signs are more than directions, as it can tell every minority whose native language is not Chinese, “You belong here.” #CJMinor
