The call up of OF Kjerstad has me intrigued by the Orioles path to the MLB team for HS versus college players based on games played in the minor leagues.

Despite 3+ years in college and generally drafted as 1st rd picks other than Mayo, the HS and college players generally spend a similar 200 to 300 games in MiLB. The HS players debut on avg around 21 and the college draftees at 24.

Regardless, the system seems to work, though it suggests no benefit of going to college for 3+ years.
