Responding to an urgent medical evacuation request from UT Ladakh, an IAF C-130 aircraft was launched at short notice, to airlift a 38-year-old Ladakhi native in critical condition, from Leh to Delhi. The mission was executed under pitch-dark conditions and the challenging Himalayan terrain. This timely operation not only ensured immediate life-saving medical care, but also exemplified the Indian Air Force’s professionalism and commitment to humanitarian assistance — anytime, anywhere.

Around 250 JKAS officers of 2019 batch are now in their 7th year of service. Their grade promotion and confirmation should have happened by 2024, as per SRO-386 of the J&K Government which sets the 4-year limit for probation and the need for departmental exams to confirm service.

The inordinate and strange delay to hold departmental exams comes in the face of inaction on very clear orders for confirmation by the CAT. This is unfair and unjust to the 250 JKAS officer of 2019 batch.

These are hardworking officers who are working at the most vital public interface level of administration.

Their file continues to move like a pendulum between offices — depriving them of routine career progression which can unfairly affect their seniority.

The @CM_JnK must pay heed to this important matter and in the interests of administrative propriety deliver justice to the officers of 2019 batch.
