An unknown man walked into the Premier League…
He won hearts, stayed when we needed him most,
Lifted the trophy we all dreamed of,
And now he leaves with the smile and honour he’s always deserved.
My captain. My man. A true Spurs legend.
Thank you, Heung-Min Son. 💙⚪

Friday's horse racing thread 🧵
Ascot 2.35 Flann Sunna 13/8 NEXT BEST
York 2.45 Spicy Marg 15/8
Newmarket 3.35 Precise 10/11 NAP
Newmarket 4.10 Desert Smoke 11/2 (good word)
Ascot 4.23 Hoseki 15/8
Ascot 4.55 Amazing Journey 4/1 each way
Newmarket 5.20 Toastmaster 2/1
I was really taken with FLANN SUNNA on debut. He travelled strongly into the race and always looked in his comfort zone. He really kicked away and went through the line strong. The second Perfect Nation has won easily at Lingfield since so the form has been boosted. He is obviously open to improvement and while this is clearly tougher I think he is an exciting colt going forward.
I thought that was a huge run from SPICY MARG to go down just a head to Venetian Sun in the Commonwealth Cup. The form of that race looks decent and if she repeats that here she is taken to get back to winning ways. She is armed with a good draw and has pace around her so should get a good passage into the race and I think she'll take a lot of stopping. At a crazy price Catching The Moon might be value to run into the top 6 or so. bet365 have her for a top 6 finish at around 3/1.
I'm surprised PRECISE is a bit uneasy in the betting as I'm confident she beats these. She quickly got back on track after Newmarket to win the Irish Guineas and then the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. She is a top-class filly and getting weight from her main danger Blue Bolt I fancy her strongly to complete the hat-trick. Both Venetian Lace and Venosa should go forward so I don't see it turning tactical and she is comfortably the one to beat.
Really good word going about for DESERT SMOKE here. I obviously initially sided with Pure Majesty but now I have been told this filly by Havana Grey is a nice type I have played her each way. Oisin Murphy has been booked for Hugo Palmer and I'm expecting a big run. Obviously not a lot to go on here and she is on debut so don't go mad but I'm happy to share.
I can see HOSEKI taking a lot of beating here. She has won her last two and seems to have a really likeable way of going. I was impressed with that Chester win and she has a nice mix of speed and stamina so I can see this trip and track both suiting. She has more to come and looks a good bet to beat Nochebuena who is also improving with experience.
I thought we were desperately unlucky to get beat on AMAZING JOURNEY at Epsom. He was impressive at Kempton and then I just think the track caught him out last time. He has been left off an unchanged mark here and this should pan out more favourably so I make him the one to beat.
With the drift on Sierra Sands I've had to abandon ship now and TOASTMASTER looks a gamble worth weighing in with. He really picked up well to win at Doncaster last time and his overall profile is looking progressive now. This track will suit and with more to come he could prove a cut above these with Oisin Murphy an eye-catching jockey booking.
