BLOs told The Hindu that two men claiming to represent the Belagavi City Corporation brought the bulk forms and urged them to sign quickly. Some BLOs said they signed under pressure, others refused or tried to reach supervisors. The men allegedly called someone posing as the ERO to tell the BLOs to sign. The ERO said his name had been used without his authorisation and that he gave no such instruction. When some of the objectors whose details were on the forms were contacted, they confirmed that the names and phone numbers were theirs, but said they had not filled out the applications against anyone.

One of India's finest editorial cartoonist @satishacharya - will not be visible on @instagram now. His account was withheld in India without notice or reason... on the orders of the Modi Govt.
Satish is not the only one - last month - @IndianExpress reported how the Govt issued one blocking order - on an average - every 68 seconds. Around 1,275 every day. Nearly two lakh lakh such orders between March and June.
With the narrative slipping out of hand - this deletion spree is a desperate effort to stem the rising anger against the Modi regime. Imagine team Chappaneshwar being scared of cartoons now! (Then the same guys will yelp in pain when we sink further on Democracy & FoE ratings)😵‍💫🤦🏻‍♂️

Ashutosh Ranka and others have been at the police station since morning. They are still being held, and now the police are citing medical examination as the reason for keeping them there.

Meanwhile, our talented team inspected the police station washroom. I have been told that condition is disgusting - foul smell, non-functional flushes and poor hygiene.
