we get asked 'how do i stand out as a creative dev / design eng?' several times a week

answer: make stuff like this

when you build things that:
1. models can't easily one-shot
2. require thoughtful design and taste
3. have tonnes of polished details and edge cases

it shows you're the type of dev who doesn't say 'we cant do this' but instead asks 'how can we do this?'

companies who care about design will chase you because design-first culture is bottlenecked by dev: if the engineer can't or can't be bothered implementing the details, why should a designer obsess about them?
