I enjoy talking/writing about D1/JUCO college baseball and minor league prospects. Hit me up for manga/anime recs. I will discuss politics to call out bullshit.
Augusta batters befuddled by the change-up. Several walks turned into strikeouts because of that change-up.
Tate Southesine gets the first walk in the 5th inning.
Southesine and Essenburg have struck out twice against a LHP.
Briggs McKenzie leaned heavily on the CH & CB in the 4th inning. Landing each for strikes. You love to see that!
CH getting a lot of swing/miss.
K on CB, CH
FB: 93
CB: 80/81
CH: 86/87
4 IN, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K
The book is out on Dixon Williams. Pitch him away. He can't seem to do anything with the pitch or he chases out of the zone.
Dude's got to adjust to how he's being pitched to.
Ethan Bagwell after a 20+ pitch 1st inning was sitting 92 in the 2nd. He's had velo gains YoY, but he cannot hold it well right now.
Gave up a double on the sweeper.
K on the SW and FB
2 IN, 2 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 4 K
Ethan Bagwell gave up an RBI double on the CH (after a 2 out BB). CH is a work in progress as more than a couple didn't move much and look like a very slow FB. A couple broke arm side.
Struck out 2
FB: 93-95
CH: 88/89
SW: 81/82
1 IN, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K
Alex Lodise has swung at 5 balls in the zone. He's whiffed on 4 of them (fouled off the other). It's been a theme from the games I've watched.
To me, that's Lodise's biggest challenge right now. He's got to make more and better contact in zone.
Austin Riley so lost. Looked at 2 fastballs for strikes and the only pitch he swung at was in the dirt. Hope he figures it out. Seems like he's just second guessing himself. Didn't Chipper tell him to sit fastball?
Eric Hartman is one of the biggest breakout prospects in the Minors this year ... and he almost wasn't drafted.
Here's the story of how the @Braves landed the 19-year-old outfielder: https://t.co/3HtxYOlCCa
