Surgical strike" in Agriculture Production Department : Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Shaliendra Kumar rescinds 42 orders, primarily involving transfers, issued by outgoing Director Agriculture Kashmir, Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, whose second extension came to end on November 30 and was reportedly in his office till 8:00 PM on that day in "hope of getting another extension". These orders were issued by the Director between November 16 to November 29. How this officer managed to get 2 extensions ? Was there dearth of competent officers to handle the assingment?

It is surprising to see that, over the past decade, farmers and companies have been importing lakhs of plant trees for HDP orchards. While it is entirely possible to develop these trees locally in Kashmir with superior quality, unfortunately, the Horticulture Department has only initiated the process this year. However, given the current state of the nurseries, they still lack the capability to produce high-quality planting material.@JKHorticulture

Agri is the backbone of Kashmir's economy. Hndrs of qualified agri graduates have been waiting for jobs for the past 2 decades, as new rules in the agri dept have halted direct recruitment. They only promote through internal quotas.@SkuastkCC

All students are eligible for open merit, but open merit students are not eligible for other categories. Out of 156 seats, only 63 are allocated for open merit. This is a total injustice for open merit students
