FDA suspends licence of 'Olympia Coffee House', Colaba, It was Suspended Immediately Based on Consumer Complaint:

On 16 September 2026, the Food and Drug Administration, Maharashtra, took action against M/s. Olympia Coffee House, Colaba, Mumbai, based on a consumer complaint received under the “Safe Food Safe Maharashtracampaign, and forthwith suspended the establishment’s Food License No.
11519001000511.

During the inspection, several serious food safety and hygiene violations were observed, including a urinal located in the food storage area, unhygienic food preparation and utensil-washing facilities, handling of food directly on the floor, use of unclean water, infestation of cockroaches and flies, meat blood residues inside the refrigerator, improper segregation of raw vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, use of damaged wooden chopping boards, and absence of appropriate protective clothing among food handlers. Further, out of 35 food handlers, 34 had not undergone the required food safety training, and
mandatory water testing reports and essential sanitation records were not available.

In view of the serious deficiencies and the potential risk to food safety and public health, Food License No. 11519001000511 was forthwith suspended under Section 32(3) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, read with Regulation 2.1.8(4) of the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011.

During the suspension period, the establishment has been directed to cease all activities relating to the purchase, preparation, storage, sale and distribution of
food. Further action will be considered only after complete rectification of the deficiencies and satisfactory
re-inspection of the premises
