Calling UK producers, songwriters and singers! I'm doing a PhD for Oxford Uni about pop vocal production, and the links between technology and style. I'm collecting data using interviews and observation, and need more participants. Please DM or email me (in bio) if you can help!
As an FYI to ethno/anthro people who may be examining or shortlisting projects by disabled students, I understand 'feasibility' is part of the evaluation criteria, but it is never appropriate to bring students' disabilities into that discussion.

Great to collaborate with @jakedownsmusic@jacobmbird on this panel presentation - a topic very central to my DPhil research - and a nice break from writing!
If you’re at a loose end, @jacobmbird, @aannathomas, and I are hosting a panel on voices and technologies at the Sound Instruments and Sonic Cultures online conference from 1400 GMT. Free access here: https://t.co/Oei8C4t2K9
Agreed! Plus I’ll be presenting as part of a collaborative panel discussing what Steven Connor has called the “voice-body” and its technological mediations with @jacobmbird and @aannathomas tomorrow at 1400 GMT. Funded in part by the wonderful @WRoCAH.
🧵Practical things you can do as an AHRC student to try and eke out your funding (/ways to make your extension come from a different pot). Spoiler there's not a lot, but.
UKRI policy just released is very depressing. Along with the widespread trend/expectation that humanities students do a 4th year unfunded, it's proof that humanities research is valued less by this govt. Plus, as usual, it will place wealthy students at an overwhelming advantage.
So we're hearing that PGR Twitter is not exactly loving this announcement. Want UKRI to know what you think in our response? Add to the padlet and we'll make sure the directors hear your views! https://t.co/9J6Z95uK5r
@alicetheoboist 'One of our key strategies going forward will be to ensure that students and supervisors make their best efforts to devise alternative ways of completing their projects. It's important that we give students the right support to basically just suck it up and get on with it'
We are excited to announce our online launch event including a panel session on "A Vision for EDI in Music in HEIs"! Please join us on 13th November to hear from our guest speakers Nate Holder (@N8Holder), Alok Nayak & Freya Jarman (@freya_jarman).

A big thank you to everyone who replied to/forwarded on my call for research participants. So many amazing leads for the study! (And sorry to anyone I haven't got round to following up yet, I'm still getting through them all!)
