the funny thing is that almost everybody thinks they're the exception. the one with the uniquely terrible life. meanwhile, if lives were laid bare and people were asked to exchange theirs for another at random, many would run back to the very life they were complaining about.
comparison is truly the thief of joy. there is always someone with more wealth, more beauty, more influence, more opportunities. but there is also always someone carrying burdens you would not survive, trials you would beg Allah not to test you with. yours is not the best life, so you want more. yours is not the worst life either, so be grateful.
and for the muslim especially and particularly, hope is not a coping mechanism. hope, for us, as muslims, is ibādah (worship). it is from husnu-dh-dhann billah. it is part of what keeps the heart attached to Allah and strengthens one's aqeedah. the muslim thanks Allah in hardship not because suffering itself is enjoyable, but because he knows his Lord is Wise, Merciful, and does not waste the reward of patience. he knows that today's difficulty is not the entirety of the story.
you will see a person saying “alhamdulillah” through hardship and think they've been fooled by religion. however, the truth is they have understood that life was never promised to be free of trials. what we are promised is that our hardships (accompanied with our strife to be free from them) are meaningful. what we are promised is that our patience through these hard moments will be rewarded. what we are promised is that death upon this faith and belief grants us the win in the end. so keep your head up, my friend. you win or you win.
Please, if you’ll repost one thing today, Dan Allah let it be this one. These people have gone hungry for weeks now, and we’ve exhausted every avenue available to help them.
this was inspired by a question posed at the masjid— the islamic position of sharing fake news. the questioner was deeply disturbed by how much we act on info without verifying today. true, it is very un-muslim-like and i've managed to put all my frustration into words too. read!

Brothers, this is a person who has truly studied for about 20 years.
In Yemen, Dammaj, Saudi etc…
If we can insha’Allah help him, so he can setup duroos - teach the people in Jacksonville America, Tawhid, Aqidah, Hadith etc…
Imagine the reward from Allah if you help him spread knowledge!
This is not like those Da’wah clowns who take thousands just to go and debate christian’s.
And I only came across this post now, and the Ustadh is known for his goodness.

Good day everyone, my name is MaryRose. I'm a medical student at the LAUTECH TEACHING HOSPITAL and this is a fundraiser post.
A couple of weeks ago, precisely on the 16th of April, 2026, there was a fire outbreak in Ogbomoso and the building affected was a students' lodge. Two of my classmates and friends lived in this hostel.
We were in school, having a laboratory practical session when they were informed that their hostel was on fire.
In a couple of hours, the entire first floor of the building was razed and only the ground floor was unscathed.
Unfortunately, one of my two classmates was affected by the fire. She lost everything she had save for the dress she was wearing and her school bag. Everything was lost. Things she had gathered over the years. Her clothes. Her textbooks. Her stethoscope. Her documents. Everything was lost.
We know that we cannot possibly imagine or fathom all that she might be going through right now but we have decided to step up, as her friends, and help in the little way that we can. And that is the reason for this fundraiser.
Over the next couple of days or weeks, we are hoping to raise five hundred thousand naira to help one of our own get back on her feet. We will appreciate any form of help during this period, in cash or in kind(clothes, shoes medical school textbooks, medical instruments etc).
If this post comes up on your page, please take a moment to read, donate and share.
Let's come together to help our classmate and friend smile again.
We are currently at 34,000 naira. We still need 466,000 more to hit our goal.
Please share and donate!
