Call out culture is a new to me, it does not cancel the influencer, but more or less shames them publicly. In "I’m a Black Feminist. I Think Call-Out Culture Is Toxic" it talks about if users communicate and teach nicely the internet would be a better place. #cucomm32000_26SR
As the industry grows the younger users/influencers become. They are lead into a life of faking it (living in big houses, having all the nicest things, "dream bodies"). In reality they are living paycheck to paycheck unsure where the next one will come from. #CUcomm3200_25SR
Social media is controlled by what the users want to see and what they want to believe. Social media needs to become more authentic to show a positive side rather than the negative judgement side. #CUcomm3200_24SR
Baym's article really opened my eyes on how media plays a huge role in how music gains traction. That's why music today becomes "bigger " than older music. Older music did not have online media to become as big as those today. #CUcomm3200_22SR
Online surveillance is not what most people think it is. Nothing is truly private on the internet due to the data we give. Along with that we are not who we truly are on the internet no matter finsta or real insta. #CUcomm3200_21SR
As the internet evolves and the regulations stay the same, it will be hard to truly "take down" misinformation. I also believe if there was way to flag it, people would flag not only the wrong, but the right. The internet should come with education. #CUcomm3200_20SR
Misinformation has become easier too spread due to the amount of users and all the movements/health issues that have come up in the past few years. Instead of assuming everything is true, we need people to learn how to research before believing #CUcomm3200_20SR
Those working in content moderation probably have seen it all. Also if a bot were to take over the job, I don't believe it will fully understand what is what. I think it is an unfair way out of actually moderating. #CUcomm3200_18SR
After going over the readings for this week, I find that the internet is still open for anything from posts to what platforms take from users. Legislation will probably not be able to regulate the internet due to how fast it evolves and goes. #cucomm3200_17SR
Crazy to think that before the internet it took awhile for word to get out. In Gladwell's article, back then activist had to find others in the same area, but with the internet you can find people who have the same beliefs very quickly.

Crazy to think how fast BLM took over twitter because of the power of the internet. While for a problem to get as much attention as BLM back then a protestor had to set himself on fire. Same concept different platforms. #cucomm3200_15sr
I was not too shocked about Google's racial bias in the search engine. Society reflects the internet just as the internet reflects society. They have been pointed out before and if the same people are still in charge then I believe nothing will change. #cucomm3200_12sr
I feel a bit uneasy, we are advancing technology so much this day and age. No matter how far we go we still seem to be stuck on stereotypes and gender norms. Will it ever change ? #cucomm3200_11sr
News and Journalism are different due to the government and other institutions' need for it as it promotes civic engagement and a healthy democracy. Does this mean journalism will never die? Does media have any effect on journalism? #cucomm3200_10sr
Journalist will have a future b/c of the world's constant need for news, but it will go through changes. The changes being is how it is being delivered such as paper to online. Already journalist have taken steps into figuring out how to adjust to this #cucomm3200_9sr
Jacob Silverman discussing the decline in news from journalism due to social media. Where does it leave print/online news and those writing ? Control is switching over from journalist to influencers and it feels like it happened over night. #cucomm3200_8SR
Stevenson's article gives insight ab. social media in the 90s to have so much hype around it (mixed with scared emotions). While now a days the newest media was TikTok that had the same emotions. We are no different from those before us especially with new media.

In Humphrey's reading, Becker suggests that media can transform the watcher to that place just as dairies do. The reader/watcher are transported into what they are seeing. Will media disappear like dairies ?#cucomm3200_4SR
I think it the Galer article states information that most people already know; TIKTOK took the world by storm especially in the media field, the app knows what a person likes/where they are. Why are people so afraid of new media as it becomes regulated? #cucomm3200_3SR
