—Toni Morrison
your critique of ai cannot be entrenched in aesthetics because there will be a time when you see an ai image or hear an ai song and think "that looks/sounds good". your critique of ai must always be entrenched in the poisonous effect it has on people's brains and the planet.
people always ask me how i maintain such a positive outlook and the honest answer they rarely like to hear is that it takes intention to be a positive person. it takes a certain stubbornness, an insistence upon inspiring yourself over and over again, a deliberate choosing of prettier thoughts that will actively organize your rendering of reality around hope and gratitude rather than scarcity and cynicism. it’s an act of defiance, almost. an unwillingness to surrender.
is it better to speak or to die? speak. dying is inevitable anyways — so speak up. speak your mind. speak it to existence. nobody knows you as much as yourself and hence nobody will speak for you the way your mind needs to be spoken for. so speak, speak, speak.
