@shagbark_hick We are in a collective state of shock troop. Our collective identities rooted in deeply seeded entitlements, growing into roles that amount to nothing more than inflicting the future on other people in the same fashion as those that planted the rotting future that chokes us.
@AmiEverAfter Thank you for the reply. I was just curious as I’ve been in the middle of a streak of ADHD crash-outs and hearing what someone else’s triggers are can shed light on how I could approach mine differently.
@nealjclark1 Divorce is obviously a bad circumstance for kids. But you’re not gonna do them any favors by telling them that they don’t have to adjust to bad circumstances. Children should orbit around their parents lives. That’s how they will learn how to revolve around their eventual spouse
@AmiEverAfter Deep resilience arises from overcoming self-inflicted obstacles with the same grit and determination you use to navigate the worlds outside of your control.
@shagbark_hick It’s corny but we need to lead by setting positive examples as well as encouraging people to value and participate within what they have access to rather than using digital substitutes, simulations of unavailable perfect realities.
@GiffLasta I think coveting something means a few things along the primary axis of having your spirit becoming defined by a longing and desire to possess a thing that you cannot and should have, where attaining the thing desired would undermine the bonds of community united by the covenant.
@DeanAbbott Honestly, I think people find cozy lighting scary after constant exposure to the effective cognitive panopticon enabled by overhead fluorescents that mark existence and socialization within American public space.
@shagbark_hick Industrialization for the sake of industry always amounts to “turning fangorn forest into fuel for the fires of Isengard” and “scouring the shire”. This means undermining and uprooting any thing that prevents the conversion of stability into pure capital.
@apex_simmaps Awefare— undermining a polity’s ability to perceive the probable by spamming the public sphere with hyperbolic prescriptions of what’s possible.
@ploughmansfolly@apex_simmaps Also, there’s plenty of room for scaled up “factory” farming that doesn’t utilize or depend on the specific practice that sparked this debate, the caging of pigs for extended periods of time.
@johnkonrad@nytimes There’s no way you can calculate Lego’s bulk cost using a triangulation based on Alibaba’s pricing and supply chain. Lego has their own supply chain and pays for the development and IP of their product and Alibaba copies it and uses their supply chain to produce counterfeits
@phendetta I suspect a few reasons. Collapse of industry in NE US. Gas and road network expansion was incredibly cheap relative to growing/maintaining water/rail transit options. Building roads subsidizes and monetizes expansive development in areas disfavored by natural transkf options
@AmiEverAfter I get the feelings this seeking this sort of chaos when you are by yourself sows the seeds that bring deeper stability and contentment for you and your boy.
I mean I wouldn’t dance on the bar on a school night necessarily but you could probably pull that off in a pinch.
@AmiEverAfter Right angles appear destined to return to trucks, but will they be able to let themselves make one that doesn’t look like it wishes it was a Michael Bay Transformer?
