Tony Abbott, prominent member of the controversial conservative lobby group Advance Australia, opposes the Voice because it ‘may influence government policy’. John Howard, who introduced offshore detention, opposes the Voice because it could divide Australians according to race.
@MichaelOReilly_ Emily Day @theage "whether cyclists should be allowed to exist peacefully or be the target for urban four wheel drivers" Why don't you repeat that to the poor family that tragically lost a loved one.
My worst nightmare is getting stuck trying to cross the road and the lights change
@brisbanecityqld can someone look at this access ramp? Outside Catherdral of St Stephen 249 Elizabeth Street

@adambspencer It’s a criminal trial, not an inquest. The Crown cannot prosecute a dead person. The Judge can’t then complete the prosecution process (handing down sentence). In Australian precedents, I can only think of Charles II digging up the corpses of Cromwell and co. for show trials.
@CoxyJindas In my experience the motorcycle-riding officers are the most likely to abuse power against vulnerable road users. Almost all of the audio comments are derisory and unprofessional (note also how much of the audio is removed). Nanny-state laws are an invitation for police abuse.
I'm watching @ScottMorrisonMP on the @abcnews talk to the Women's Summit, highlighting the importance of changing our culture towards women, and I'm feeling sick to the stomach knowing this man just promoted Christian Porter.
@CoxyJindas To all those saying there’s nothing wrong with this sign, ask yourself why there’s not a similar cautionary sign facing the drivers. 0h, and why does sign show cyclist walking across Xing? QldGvt forgotten it’s own road rules?
Catching up on #MadAsHell on iView. Hilarious skit - surprisingly youthful looking Micallef getting nowhere with Josh in farcical political interview. Oh wait it’s #insiders with Spearsy!
@LisaMillar @BreakfastNews My daughter’s ‘balance bike’ (pushbike with no pedals) was regularly parked inside the gate of her daycare centre. We would cycle there together, and then I would cycle or take the train to work.
New car sales dropped 10% in August. Young people, especially those living in the big cities, are deciding car ownership isn't worth the expense, and are opting for a mix of public transport and ride sharing services. Is this you? Let us know your choices. @BreakfastNews
@cbdbug@brisbanecityqld I’ll be taking the lane through there. It’s bad enough being passed by Council buses let alone being sandwiched between them. #paintisntmagic
