Saying nothing can advance the conversation. I enjoy fair, balanced games and new experiences. The journey is the destination. Wherever you go, there you are.
June 28 and 29, 1984. Over the course of two nights at the Saint Paul Civic Center, Bruce Springsteen kicked off his Born in the U.S.A tour and made this video. Directed by Brian DePalma, Courtney Cox was “selected” to be pulled on stage with The Boss.

This is Holly. Every day for the past 5 years, she picks out a stick and brings it to her favorite spot for “zen time.” While her stick may change, her routine never does. 13/10
One of my most proud accomplishments as a father has been giving my kids the option to have days like this - modernized, of course - especially during their time off of school in the summer (before they turn 16)
When I was 12 years old I’d wake up on a Saturday morning, watch some cartoons and pro wrestling, go outside and throw a rubber ball off the side of the house, get the guys in the neighborhood together for Wiffle Ball, go inside for Atari and snacks, ride my bike to Dairy Queen for a Mr. Misty, listen to Casey Kasem, flip on ESPN and watch sports with no social commentary, flip it over to MTV, which showed actual music videos, go back outside for more Wiffle Ball, and then think “Hey, it’s almost 3 pm.” Living my best life and had no fucking idea how good I had it.
Olivia Miles is

You shouldn’t be trying to do more in each day, trying to fill every second with a work fidget of some type. It took me a long time to figure this out. I used to be very fond of the results-by-volume approach.
Being busy is most often used as a guise for avoiding the few critically important but uncomfortable actions. The options are almost limitless for creating “busyness.”
In 2023 I wrote about an unknown college sophomore from a tiny town in Minnesota who, out of the blue Monday Q'd for the John Deere in his first ever attempt at a Monday.
His name was Anders Larson.
Pine Island is a tiny town and Larson grew up playing a local muni. And how he found a coach to help with his swing, but that coach was 2 hours away. So two times a week his family would drive him there.
He still has the same coach. Last week Anders called me, said he was turning pro, was wondering about how to find sponsors, we talked for a good bit.
On Sunday he turned pro.
Today in his first attempt at a KFT Monday as a pro, he shot 63 and earned a spot in the field.
Pretty awesome.
