MA has lower property taxes than “low tax states,” and lower income taxes than neighboring northeast and mid Atlantic states. Renters even get to deduct up to $4000 in rent off their income taxes.

Look, I think there are valid criticisms of the CPA legislation in MA and local implementations of it, but 99% of the opposition to it is people who don’t want ANY changes in their community or nutjob MAGA types like this person. Both try and “debate” with things that aren’t true
Distributions are determined by the amount of locally raised funds. Those towns that have a a higher surcharge get more and the towns determined what surcharge they would have. The state trust is funded by fees put on deed fillings.
