There’s a fire that rages in me when people, especially politicians, use Jesus as a mascot for their ideology.

Jesus Christ would love “gay kids,” without question, just as we are called to do. But He would love them into righteousness, He would not cheer them into hell like people like this do.

When Jesus told the Pharisees to “cast the first stone” at the woman who committed adultery, he didn’t tell the woman “you are fine the way you are.” He said, “go and sin no more.”

Jesus didn’t die the most excruciating death imaginable so we can stay trapped in perpetual sin. He died so that we may have NEW LIFE through Him. We are called to become new creations, not to use his grace as a get out of jail free card.

Jesus is LORD, not your mascot.
