The Beatles played ska? Listen to Jorge Pezzimenti (The Loving Paupers, Pietasters) and Agent Jay (The Slackers) break it down for us on this week's episode.
We got a great NOT-ska band on the show this week. @BLAMMOSTHEBAND. But, they have a lot to say about ska. Arthur and Jimmy talk about their other (currently on hiatus) NOT-ska band The Phenomenauts (who toured with many ska bands), The Slackers, Kongo Shock, Red Session and more
Budgie from Siouxsie and the Banshees joins us. But our main interest was learning about what it was like to drum on the The Slits iconic "Cut" album. We also break down the obvious reggae influences of recordings, and discuss what it was like to work with producer Dennis Bovell
Philadelphia, I'm doing a book event at @BNPhillyPA on December 5 at 6p. Since there are so many people in ska bands, we decided to have TWO hosts for this SKA event. @sad13 (from Speedy Ortiz) and Jim McGuin from local station WXPN will share hosting duties. Please come through!
All ready for my east coast trip!

Excellent article about the new edition of In Defense of Ska by Mat Weir
I hope you all can make it out to @GreenAppleBooks (In the park location) tomorrow to hear me discuss ska with @lauraalbert at 7p!

Guess who's hardly done interviews and is finally given the royal treatment on In Defense of Ska? Lots of history of a great skacore band that emerged during ska's low point in the US (the mid-2000s). Also lots of unhinged tour stories. Bongzilla gets mentioned! Not to be missed!
San Francisco! Has there ever been a day with more ska?
Mark your calendars for Nov 21. At 7p, head over to Green Apple Books In The Park (1231 9th Ave) and catch some Ska-ducation with me and @lauraalbert (ie JT Leroy--"Sarah" and "The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things.")
On Friday 11/15 at 7pm at our Ravenna store we have Aaron Carnes discussing his book, 'In Defense of Ska @CLASHBooks@aaroncarnes
