@DefiantBaptist @MarcheseMethods I like Andrew Wilson quite a bit. But I think a lot of people find his abrasive style offputting. I don't mind it , but I think it can be hit or miss sometimes. I also don't agree with him on everything but I think he is a big net plus for conservatives regardless.

I'm a millennial and I think its very hard to sell fiscal conservativism to young people because most dont have much of a stake in wealth, lots are priced out of housing and dont have enough to put in the stock market. But they are socially conservative because society has been rotting for a decade and they want it to end and want to go back to the 1990s or earlier.

Boomers conservatives are much more libertarian and like small government but dont see the negative social effects as much.

I think the social conservatism is going to be the future. My hope is that a good balance can be maintained between the two.

Thanks I appreciate it. I can agree with that for the most part. I think the U.S. legal system has a really good structure but it's been perverted by activists over decades. Lethal injection for example should be fairly easy and cheap to do but activists were able to make it extremely expensive.

One thing I would start doing if I had the power is that if repeat violent offenders get released from jail at some point the judges or boards that release them should be held liable.

The amount of registered Republicans in the state is only a quarter and Dems have 45%. People who think the GOP can pull off some kind of win in that environment is detached from reality.

But I do think ridiculous wait times for vote counting both in California and my State of Arizona are not good for faith in the election process. Huge countries like Brazil get it done in a few hours just like Florida. It should be a no brainer non issue for states to get back to being able to finish counting election night or potentially the day after.

Sometimes it does fail. I try to separate my feelings and look at it logically but its difficult when really impacted by it.

My mom died in 2011 by firearm, either by suicide but in my opinion by her boyfriend because of police DNA evidence and ballistics. It took years to get the tests done and the guy wasn't charged till 2017 and didn't go to trial till 2019. It's really fucked up having to wait that long. Speedy trial doesn't mean what it meant for the first 150 years of the country.

We got a shitty judge that had a scandal of being in a relationship with a wanted sex offender from back east. It ended with a hung jury.

The judge then essentially made a retrial impossible because the lead detective miss remembered 3 extremely minor details from 2011, one of the being the position of a toilet seat in the home. The judge then disallowed any testimony from the lead detective for a retrial. She did happen to make the decision when the Floyd riots were happening and I think there is a non zero chance that could have been a factor considering this judge is in the news often making rulings that are to the benefit of Democrats. I also think it's a violation of Stare decisis to disallow evidence approved by a grad jury and admitted in the first trial.

My cousin was visiting and was surprised there was a woman main character and I never occurred to me that was notable. I was obsessed with that series though, was really disappointed in how part 3 played out story wise.

I'm Catholic and largely agree with you. Ephesians 5 doesn't stop at verse 22 (wives submit). It immediately pivots to husbands loving their wives "as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her" (v. 25). That's not optional sentimentality—it's a concrete duty involving sacrifice, provision, and seeking her good.
Even Kings in antiquity had obligations to their lords, and Lords to their Knights.
It seems a bit silly for option A people to get so upset at option B when C and D exist. We are not suggesting Women act like Girlbosses towards their husbands.

As a Catholic in Arizona I largely agree. I think Baptists are great in terms of politics and hospitality but they are very combative when it comes to religion. Similar to Mormons, but I dont know if I consider Mormons Christian. Sedevacantist I would maybe put higher, they have been largely respectful but extremely pushy online. Liberal Christians would be at the bottom.

The whole point of the Horus Heresy and the Dark Imperium books is that the Emperor was wrong about Religion.

#1 he is warned at the end of the unification wars by Uriah Olathaire that his denial of religion will lead to disaster.

#2 His denial of Lorgar's nature led Lorgar to Chaos.

#3 The Emperor is empowered by the prayers on Earth giving him strength to stand up to Horus after being beaten down.

#4. The Praetorian's last command does the same as #3

#5 The Emperor and his sword are the only thing in 40k that can truly kill demons

#6 It's made clear in the Dark Imperium books that the Imperium's faith in the Emperor is the same thing that gives him power just as Murder gives power to Khorn, plots to Tzeentch, dispare to Nurgle ect. After 10,000 years of it he has taken on a similar role that the Holy Ghost plays in Christianity and is able to move through the warp.

#7 He saves Guilliman from death twice, once from Fulgrim and another from Mortarion.

#8 He reawakened the Lion and gave him new powers and equipment

#9 Sisters of Battle and Priests weaken demons.

#10 Guilliman realizes the Emperor was wrong about his Divinity

#11 He was essentially crucified by Horus and Horus tried to put a crown of thorns on his head, but the Emperor used the crown of chaos thorns to bash Horus's jaw off.

#12 The Emperor like Jesus sacrificed himself for Humanity. The Emperor has been in agony for 10,000 years to keep the Astronomican lit.

#13 Demons use the same language that would be used to mock Jesus "corpse king" and that he is gone, there is no one listening to your prayers.

The Emperor is clearly good, but not perfect. Which is also alluded to by the fact his sons are aspects of himself and half were flawed.
