Summer of ‘04:
-Legion team went to Sacramento and won an 18u tourney, our oldest player was 16. I was just focused on getting our team ready for next spring
How many HS coaches are doing that these days?
-Aly was 15, Stephanie, Nolan 10 yo All Star, Aaron 7
Ohtani:
-Even if your Friday was just so so, or you’re bored just hanging tonight, it’s all good because you got to witness and be part of or just be alive while the best game ever played in the Major Leagues was authored
Special
Happy Father’s Day to the GOAT! Bobby Sheridan
Guy has been an absolute legend since the 80’s
Whether it’s playing ball or actualizing his real talent of fatherhood, he’s been passionate and consistent. If you ask him it’s Parenting > baseball. He was damn good in both though!
It’s Friday the day before the Finals at Anaheim Stadium, our last practice together …3 HS seasons, 2 American Legion summers, a brawl at South Hills, many learning moments and great times …it was an ordinary practice, just getting in the stuff we always did the last practice before a game as part of our normal routine …one development loomed over us, however, Ryan Carter (starting CF) did not show up …my thoughts were on how Mike Alonso handled this almost exact situation before his semifinals in early 90’s, he had 2 Players miss practice day before the game and sat them both …they lost, and I loved my guy. It would’ve taken some other coach on some other team to bench him, I wasn’t going to. I knew there was a reason, and soon we found out why …he strolls through the gate off Palomares, I called him and the entire team over (I can remember it like yesterday) and asked him to explain why he’s an hour late and how could he do this the day before the Finals …he calmly said his dad (who was really his Grampa) had died …Ruben Del Castillo took it from there (leading us in prayer), and I ended practice and told them there’s nothing more we needed to accomplish today (I errored as I should’ve kept going another 30 minutes and had Ryan take some swings and play long toss and end the practice on a different note) …but no matter what, I had their back and they had mine
Note: self reflection is how coaches and teachers improve year to year
Travis @coachkelly272 I’m really happy for you and your team. I know how hard you’ve worked!
2.0 being ‘25 Baseline League champions is a result of that hard work and doing things right for your Players, having their back!
That’s EXACTLY what 1.0 stood for. Tell those AB Miller guys great job, they could’ve played for us!
Very cool @tryramp Super Bowl ad with Saquon Barkley …when Ramp goes in, they go in big …gotta be the best to represent this company, just like @aaronism_ does every day
@SheridanReport@tpfeliz Unfortunately the above is correct, Tom.
The worst part is that I willingly watched the Angels.
Thats a type of game that makes you go to bed early!
@CHPmbb Most common mistake young athletes make is think that their scheduled practice time is enough to make them great. Great discipline and drive in this video👍
