@BoardofDeputies@FUDdaily Pathetically weak.
From the protesters' perspective -
All of Israel is stolen
The land your UK synagogue is built on is stolen
The air you breathe is stolen
Reject their hateful framing ENTIRELY and fight for your people!
@AuronMacintyre I genuinely respect your diagnosis, but you have no basic answer for what you want to do about the problems you diagnose, which makes me suspect that you are an anti-American, closet Caesarist.
Even Job is not introspecting. He rages against an unfair God, demanding his day in court, and rages against his pompous friends.
Job ultimately accepts that's his human limitations mean that God is not his equal, and therefore resistance is futile.
He's no hero, he doesn't say 'everything happens for a reason'. He merely returns to neutral, saying 'I am not God's equal'.
@CoreyWriting The logic is perfectly simple.
Despite the fact that no genocide took place, Israel and it's supporters are deemed to be evil personified.
Therefore Israel must have commited genocide.
Therefore if you support Israel you must support genocide.
QED
@FUDdaily Which underscores the power of antisemitism and the politics of resentment - the question 'who did this to us' has a cosmic power to produce the answer 'the Jews, obviously, so dement yourself with hating them. Only this will bring our redemption'
@FUDdaily Jews are sui generis because we are a people who's nation state was destroyed, yet survived amongst other nations for two millenia - giving far more than we take.
Modern Israel may be older than 60-70% of all countries currently existing, but for Jews it's a new reality.
@elongilad The amazing thing is that there is no equivalent idiom in English for where asking the question about a problem cements the existence of the problem
