He said when he went to the State CID in Lokoja, they took them to court. The court heard the case and said they didn’t want to send them to jail because they found the bag on the road and didn’t steal it. They were also given the option of paying a fine.

His friends’ parents paid the fine, and out of the five people, four went home, while he was the only one left in the cell for more than two months.

He was later taken to prison, despite the fact that the Chief Judge of Kogi State had told them to discharge the case. However, they didn’t do that. They said he had to pay a fine or else they would take him to prison.

This man said he met a 17-year-old boy when he was in prison. The boy shared his story about how he ended up in prison.

He said his friends found a Ghana Must Go bag filled with iPhones, from the iPhone 17 Pro downwards. They took the bag and shared the phones among themselves, including giving some to their parents. They also gave him an iPhone 17 Pro because he didn’t have a phone.

One day, he heard that the police had arrested his friends and taken them to the Lokoja Police Station.
