The Freedom Foundation has already helped more than 25,000 public employees opt out of their unions in 2026 — and we're not even halfway through the year. We're on track for our biggest year ever, building on more than 275,000 public employees who have reclaimed their paychecks from forced union dues and stripped nearly $791 million from union coffers.
It's been a month since Governor Ron DeSantis signed Freedom Foundation-backed SB 1296 into law. Make no mistake: Florida set the national standard for union accountability.
Another big thanks to Gov. DeSantis for standing with public workers. If you’re a Florida government worker, visit our new union accountability page and see how these changes protect your freedom.

🧵If you're a teacher, police officer, first responder, or any public employee tired of your dues funding big labor's politics and bureaucracy, then the Freedom Foundation's newest project is for you!
Nearly 7.8 MILLION government employees are stuck contracts with big unions like the NEA, AFT, SEIU, and AFSCME.
Many never voted to unionize. They're getting "representation" whether they want it or not. And those unions answer to national headquarters, not to them... (1/6)
Katie Miller: “What’s a conspiracy theory that you believe in?”
Liz Wright, wife of Trump Energy Secretary Chris Wright: “…The teachers unions want to keep the students stupid so they can control them and turn them into Democrats.”
The Freedom Foundation's newest project, https://t.co/rYJW7RTpeT, explains the three real options you have thanks to the Supreme Court's 2018 Janus decision:
Decertify your union by secret-ballot vote
Form a new, truly independent union in its place
Or disaffiliate entirely!
Illinois teachers and Washington police officers have already done it and won back control. Now it’s your turn. Get started here: https://t.co/dXXzd8eYbJ
@azcentral don’t confuse good hard working with radical leftist teacher unions. HCR2040 protects Arizona teachers and taxpayers from corrupt teacher unions. Teachers can still recruit members, collect dues and organize… they just can’t ask the Arizona taxpayers to foot the bill.
HCR2040 doesn't ban unions. Doesn't restrict membership. Doesn't silence teachers. It simply says Arizona taxpayers shouldn't be funding union operations. That's a principle most Arizonans — union member or not — can get behind.
Whenever a public employee tries to seek out the truth, unions tend to withhold it. For too long, workers had nowhere to turn — until now.
That's why we launched Empowered Employees: a bold new resource for teachers, police officers, first responders, and all government employees who want something better.
When employees know the truth — union lies become painfully clear.
🧵Big news from Freedom Foundation! We're thrilled to launch Empowered Employees: our bold new project to give teachers, police officers, first responders, and government employees the freedom they deserve.
If you’re a public worker tired of your dues going to unions who don’t listen, this is for you. Nearly 7.8 MILLION government employees are stuck in contracts with giant unions like the NEA, AFT, SEIU, and AFSCME. Many never even voted to unionize. These organizations take your dues, donate to political causes you may oppose, and leave you with "representation" that's expensive AND unresponsive.
The Freedom Foundation is proud to launch https://t.co/rYJW7RTpeT: our next step to helping teachers, police officers, and public workers escape corrupt unions like the NEA, AFSCME, and SEIU.

Nice gaslighting from AZCentral. No, the sky isn’t falling.
HCR2040 simply prohibits your tax dollars from being used to support teachers unions. It still completely allows teachers to join unions, pay any associated dues & operate within that structure.
A ghostwriter. Headshots. A million-dollar law firm. And $125K in her own pocket. This is what union leadership looks like when there's no accountability.
🚨We just dropped a bombshell report exposing how Randi Weingarten's union, the American Federation of Teachers, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in teachers' hard-earned dues money to bankroll her vanity book project.
They dropped over $400,000 on a ghostwriter, paid for her professional headshots, a fancy literary agent, and even a million-dollar law firm to review the manuscript — all while Weingarten pocketed $125,000 herself through a shady LLC...
This is exactly why we do this work. Teachers deserve to know how their dues are being spent — and Randi Weingarten is counting on them not finding out. We're not going to let that happen.

Randi Weingarten spent over $1 million in teacher dues promoting her vanity book — then had the nerve to call our report "fact-free." The only thing fact-free is her explanation of where the money went.
BREAKING: Randi Weingarten is throwing a fit over a Freedom Foundation report exposing how her union spent over $1 million in member dues promoting her vanity book, "Why Fascists Fear Teachers.”
Binding arbitration is one of the most fiscally irresponsible policies a state can adopt. Missouri legislators, don't let union bosses hand taxpayers the bill.
We urge @NickBSchroer, @AlexRileyMO, @TonyLuetkemeyer and @jmmurphy8 to block binding arbitration for government unions.
When both sides are bargaining with taxpayer dollars, neither has any incentive to be fiscally responsible. The result: higher taxes and broken trust in local communities.
I am thankful to the search committee for naming me the sole finalist to become Polk State College’s next president.
Florida College System institutions play a critical role in preparing students for in-demand, high-wage positions. During my time as Commissioner, I have proudly touted their incredible outcomes as they serve more than 680,000 students across the state and provide more than 130,000 degrees and certifications each year. It is an honor to be blessed with this opportunity, and I am excited to contribute to that work in a new capacity while continuing to support strong partnerships between K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.
I also look forward to working with the Board of Trustees, cabinet members, and the faculty whose dedication is transforming students’ lives and equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their careers.
No matter the position I serve in, I remain committed to the belief that education is the foundation of opportunity and the key to a stronger future.
California's "Billionaire Tax" is a classic union bait-and-switch. Backed by SEIU, this 5% wealth tax on billionaires hides a poison pill: the legislature can expand it to anyone with assets—without a vote—while gutting the pensions of the very nurses and teachers SEIU claims to protect.
