@STUPIDREACTIONS It's the Indian version of a waist coat. It formalizes the kurta they're wearing. It's not just reserved for politicians though. Just because most Indian men no longer wear ethnic clothing except for Wedding and special occasions, it merely seems only politicians wear it.
