Skanda Kartikeya is totally a “Vedic” and “Aryan” God He is married to Devasena, the daughter of the supreme “Aryan” god Indra !!! He is known as Subrahmanya, which means the best of the best of the Brahmanas, or the best of the best of those who are experts in Vedic knowledge.
@saivamtamil Ayyo, muttaal. What he is saying in the first few lines (except that single word eer ezhu, ie 14) is PURE Sanskrit.
You have no ability to differentiate what is Sanskrit and Tamil. Don't blame you. They are so intertwined that they are inseparable.
First text to be boycotted: Kandha Shashti Kavacham
It calls Murugan as:
- வாசவன் மருகா (the son-in-law of Indra)
- சரவண (a Sanskrit word for Murugan)
- முப்புரி நூலும் (one who wears the three-stringed thread - the yajnopavita)
- சங்கரன் புதல்வா (son of Shankara)
Many more examples (not to forget the name of the text too), but I think these are more than enough reasons to boycott the text so central to Tamil households now.
"Born in the North, forged in the heartland, worshipped in the South" — an upcoming Jr NTR film described Lord Murugan as such.
Within minutes, Dravidianists on X erupted, calling it the theft of a Tamil god who belongs to the Tamil land alone.
The trouble is that Murugan has always been two gods in one:
- In the north he is Kartikeya, the celibate war-commander born of Shiva.
- In Tamil Nadu he is Murugan, young and beautiful, wed to Valli, a tribal girl of the hills.
That doubleness is not a contradiction to be fixed. It is how the god has lived and travelled for two thousand years, and a film tagline flattening it is merely tone-deaf.
But the Dravidianist outrage gives itself away.
Only months ago the very same god was at the centre of a real fight, on the hill of Thiruparankundram, where a sacred lamp-pillar stands near an old dargah.
When devotees tried to relight it for the Tamil festival of lamps, the Dravidian state government blocked them, and kept resisting even after the High Court ruled that lighting a lamp can offend no one.
The digital warriors who rose against a film poster were nowhere to be seen then. No hashtags, no essays, no fury at a government standing between Murugan and his own flame.
For these sections, it turns out, Murugan is only an ideological football.
As a follow, "Who do Gods belong to?" asks @CranksCorner.

This was too depressing to watch!
Two college girls were electrocuted after rainwater under Nerul's LP Bridge became electrified due to a short circuit.
These politicians are living lavishly while ordinary people are left to die.

And look at the headline 🤡
Sarthak Goswami and BBC exposed factories including Ethanol plants turning Byrnihat into a pollution chamber.
You expect govt to take action but not in New India.
Meghalaya Health Minister:
"we saw video but can investigate only after receiving a written official complaint🤦"
A scene from movie Citizen Vigilante that was released twelce days ago, and it's banned from screening in all of Europe.
Hammer plays an expat who turns vigilante against migrant rapists and corrupt officials after a girl's brutal attack, inspired by a real 2016 Hamburg case.
Yesterday my 3.5 year old car “Skoda Slavia” had to be send for repair as it stopped on the road and would not start properly. Had to be towed to a service station. As per the service station new high mixing of ethanol in petrol damages the fuel pump and it has become a major problem. They on average receive upto 6 to 7 cases a day which may require change of fuel pumps. It seems government has neither thought through nor did any study as to how this new fuel with high ethanol mix will affect the existing cars. Car owner have become the guinea pigs and causing them a lot of financial harm. SAD state of affairs @nitin_gadkari ji
