@MarianaBaabar Striking double standard. You call Dawn's "lipstick" metaphor sexist, yet describe Ayub as "handsome hunk" with "hearts fluttering," say "flirting came easy," and call it "charming." Why is framing objectionable in one context, but charming nostalgia in another?
Are u actually comparing Ayub Khan's "heart fluttering" charm with present Field Marshal?
Reducing men holding high offices to objects of flirtation and "heart fluttering" admiration is embarrassing. Being dignified, capable, doing his job well is enough charm for that position.
Yes, they were sweet on each other !
Flirting came easy for them 😎
Uncle Ayub Khan was one handsome hunk, and had hearts fluttering! He turned heads abroad in uniform, which was soooo much more charming then the present one 😊
Maybe news/opinion platforms like @ProPakistaniPK should distinguish between "what Reddit users are saying" and "what the public thinks." Reddit can be a source of online reaction, but treating it as a reference for public opinion sets a rather troubling standard.
Pakistan's agriculture policy should protect farmers, local research and control over seeds before any foreign-backed biotechnology partnership moves forward, an opinion piece argues. 🧵
@StockieNewbie Men? Oh, I was putting on mascara for a man's approval all this time? Nobody told me.
It has nothing to do with what men prefer! Women also do these things bcz they want to look a certain way. My point was how beauty industry keeps pushing different faces towards the same ideal.
You open Instagram and feel that beauty standards have stopped celebrating individuality and producing a template.
Sane lips, same brows, same lifted eyes, expressions.
Nothing wrong with makeup or treatments but how different women are increasingly being made to look the same.
The PML-N’s KP chapter issued a white paper on the provincial government’s “misgovernance during past one year”.
“Today the province has just 17 bulletproof vehicles. In contrast, Punjab has 76, and even a low-budget province like Balochistan has 42,” Ikhtiar Wali said.

I do not know a single woman, I DO NOT KNOW A SINGLE WOMAN, I D O N O T K N O W A S I N G L E W O M A N who has not been the subject of harassment, assault, intimidation, stalking or rape - I am 30 years old, I know a lot of women. You all don’t know one either. #MeToo
There's a strange kind of absence that feels like presence. You know they are there...everywhere...in the instinct to pick up phone and tell them something, in that quiet moment when you still turn towards them in your head...
Presence remains. But heart still craves the person.
For countries like Pakistan, the lesson from what's happening in Nepal is hard to ignore.
We need to plan and build for the risks ahead, not the climate we used to have.
The greatest threat to a nation's survival is not an enemy at the gates. It is the inability to adapt when the rules of power change beneath your feet.
@ImranPTI67@omar_quraishi PTI actually approved 1.1 billion for the purchase of two VVIP Gulfstream aircraft, and maintenance. Official Finance Division document confirms that.
But then came April 10, 2022...aur phir chiraghon main roshni na Rahi..

. ✈️ QTR17B | Doha → Sialkot
QTR17B was flying from Doha to Sialkot when GNSS jamming and spoofing affected its position data.
Open-source flight-tracking platforms subsequently showed the aircraft over Jammu.
It wasn’t.
The aircraft maintained its actual approach to Sialkot, established the runway’s ILS, and landed safely.
The result was a striking contradiction:
Flight tracker: Jammu.
Actual aircraft: Sialkot.
Anyone relying solely on the public tracking feed could have concluded that QTR17B had diverted, disappeared, or even crashed.
It hadn’t.
The aircraft landed safely.
This is exactly why GPS-derived tracking data cannot be treated as absolute truth during GNSS interference.
The aircraft was where it needed to be.
The map was somewhere else.
Mindset of impunity and social normalization of power over rules. Public display of aggression tells: I can do this because I can.
That's how "might is right" becomes a social norm. Once people stop believing that law will protect/punish them, violence becomes language of choice.

Whatever the truth behind #LPU India incident, women are moving more freely through public life across South Asia, yet the safety of women remains a question and safe spaces seem to be shrinking.
How deeply disturbing that women can't even feel safe in a girls' hostel?
