For most of our history — and certainly before 2025 — people joined law enforcement and the military for one purpose: to protect and to serve.
To defend the Constitution.
To safeguard communities.
To stand between danger and the innocent.
That culture of service was the backbone of our public safety system.
But we all know something changed.
After 2025, ICE and certain politically weaponized units across the country shifted away from lawful protection and toward something darker: ideological enforcement, fear-driven policing, and the targeting of vulnerable people instead of the criminals who actually threaten public safety.
And we know exactly why.
Donald Trump and the Christian nationalist extremist movement surrounding him — a movement rooted in white-identity politics, authoritarianism, and contempt for constitutional limits — declared war on the Constitution and on the very foundations of our democratic republic.
Let’s be clear:
•I’m not talking about Christianity.
•I’m not talking about conservatives.
•I’m not talking about traditional Republicans or people of faith.
I am talking about Christian nationalism — a radical political ideology masquerading as religion, weaponized to justify cruelty, dehumanization, and the misuse of government power.
That movement openly encouraged people to join law enforcement and ICE not to serve, but to dominate.
Not to protect, but to hunt.
Not to uphold the law, but to become the enforcement arm of an extremist worldview.
But here’s the truth the extremists cannot stand:
There are still countless honorable, courageous men and women in law enforcement and the military who refuse to cross that line.
They know exactly what their oath means — and who it is not sworn to.
Your oath is not to a president.
Your oath is not to a party.
Your oath is not to a political cult built on grievance and supremacy.
Your oath is — and has always been — to the Constitution of the United States and to the people of this nation.
And today, that oath matters more than ever.
We need you to stand against illegal orders.
We need you to reject immoral directives.
We need you to refuse anything that violates your conscience, your training, or the basic human dignity of those you swore to protect.
We need you to defend the line between law enforcement and political enforcement — because once that line breaks, a nation breaks with it.
This is not a call to disobey the law.
It is a call to uphold the law — even when extremists try to twist it for their own agenda.
We honor those who serve with integrity.
We reject the idea that federal agencies should become tools of political persecution.
And we insist on returning to a future where service means protection, not persecution — where wearing the badge or the uniform is once again a symbol of courage, honor, and fidelity to the Constitution.
That is the America worth fighting for.
And that is the America I intend to defend — without fear, without apology, and without bending to the extremism that threatens to tear this country apart.
Bill Maher warns the GOP they’re "way past flirting with authoritarianism."
"You must know we are really on the edge of a dictatorship here, and you're the only ones who can stop it."
If a foreign adversary snuck into our Federal budget and cut science research and education the way we’re cutting it ourselves — strategically undermining America’s long-term health, wealth, and security — we would likely consider it an act of war.
