South Africa plans to launch a $34 billion high-speed bullet train network connecting major cities like Johannesburg, Musina, and eThekwini, aiming to transform long-distance travel.

The first phase will link KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, and Limpopo, significantly reducing travel times between key economic hubs.

Gauteng province will invest $6.3 billion over five years to modernise rail systems and support the new network.
