Proud of you, captain 💙🌟
732 runs. A final. A season to remember.
The trophy didn't come home this time, but that's sport. One bad day doesn't erase an incredible season.
Now we move on to internationals 🇮🇳
Keep shining @ShubmanGill 💙🧿
I got my white ball 100 that too in the playoffs . Played in the IPL finals in 3rd attempt( as captain)
700+ runs with a SR of 163.
The only thing missing is the trophy.
That will come soon enough under your leadership.
Heads up, boi. We have Bigger goals to achieve❤️
From saying “It’s a dream of mine to know how it feels to win the IPL” to leading the team to back-to-back trophies. 🏆
For Virat, it was never just about a trophy..it was about loyalty, belief and staying when leaving would've been easier. ❤️
Congratulations, RCB! ⭐👑
🚨 How Times Change 💔
It was the IPL 2021 Final. Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer walked out together as KKR openers for the very last time, putting up a magnificent 91-run partnership. Both smashed half-centuries and yet KKR ultimately finished as runners-up.
Today, they stand at a crossroads, both fighting to lift their second IPL trophy -but this time, on opposite sides.
Let’s look at how their paths diverged since that heartbreaking night in 2021.
Shubman Gill:
Once KKR’s blue-eyed boy, Shubman was shockingly released ahead of the 2022 mega auction-a move that in hindsight feels deeply painful for fans. Let go over strike-rate concerns despite his obvious limitless ceiling, he went on to conquer the league. He became an IPL champion in his very first year away at GT, smashed an iconic 800+ run season, earned the Indian captaincy across formats under Gautam Gambhir and has now led GT to a home final in his second year as leader.
Venkatesh Iyer:
The overnight sensation of 2021, Venkatesh was the catalyst who miraculously turned KKR's fortunes around that year. Rewarded with an Indian cap and retained over Shubman, his journey soon turned into a rollercoaster of immense pressure and brilliant spikes. He endured a quiet 2022, smashed a historic hundred in 2023 under Chandrakant Pandit and finally found his redemption in 2024. Guided by Gautam Gambhir, he rose as vice-captain, delivering clutch knocks to win the championship for KKR. Though a staggering 23.75cr price tag in 2025 brought immense scrutiny and a tough dip in form. Released in 2026, he found a believer in Andy Flower -and today fate places him as RCB’s opener alongside Virat Kohli.
Given how beautifully their stories have woven through the passage of time, watching them fight for ultimate glory today is incredibly emotional. No matter who lifts the trophy, as KKR fans, we were there at the very beginning of their journeys. Seeing how far they’ve come, how much they’ve matured, and the heights they've reached fills our hearts with pride.
Best wishes to both our ex Knights - Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer, today💜.
I was never a fan of this team only root for them bcoz of Gill but lately I actually started having a soft corner for this team. Everyone underestimate them still they're at the finals.. I'll pray for this team today
